  1. I'm interested to see how Rory comes back from this. He put up a great fight, but suffered a significant beating. Like, he might have some long term lingering effects from that beating. That was probably one of the most brutal fights I've ever seen. An absolute war.

It's like some people said that fight took some years of their careers, but I think this is going to make Rory even a better fighter and he's going to become a killer; also GSP lost his first title chance and came back the second time and ended up being the greatest of all time.

  2. If you didn't watch uff 189 holy shait you missed out on one of the greatest cards ever McGregor living up to the "hype" the Rory vs Lawler fight was fight of the year Rory had the fight just needed to either finish him or keep winning the round, but broke his nose in the first round and his foot what a warrior I cannot wait for a rematch or at least next time Rory fights guy only 25 years old!!!

  3. It was a lot of hype from McGregor's side, he is smart and knows playing the cocky bad guy draws hype for the him and the UFC. Otherwise McGregor, hasn't beaten anyone good, just no names. Aldo on the other hand is ranked up there as the best pound for pound fighter and hasn't lost a fight since 2005...

I guess you can say the same about Anderson Silva only fighting once in the UFC then getting a title shot right away, or the same as when Mendes fought for the title the first time when he didn't even beat a top 5 contender but still got a title shot... or how Frankie came off two losses and got a title shot :towel: and Aldo has pulled out of 5 title fights :bored:

  4. I don't care about that. It's more about his fights in Brazil.

Rumours were he wants to fight there in Oct but UFC said he's good to go and if he pulls out Mcgregor vs Mendes for the interim title!!!

Aldo is a great fighter but he's also a pansy

    Agree

  5. Aldo's a joke every training camp for a fight he always get injured .... Rumours are he's trying to get the fight to happen in Brazil.. beyond pissed off but McGregor still looks like he's willing to fight on july 11, and it may be against Edgar!! Still pumped to see the BC boy Rory get the welterweight belt

  6. I like Lack, but he is put on too high of a pedestal in Vancouver. I like Markstrom because of his size. Lack has deflections go right over him while they would hit Markstrom. If Markstrom tightens up his game he could be a top goalie in this League. Also, I have faith in Rollie.

exactly what happens once he has a bad stretch of games and some fans turn on him and boo him; rather trade Lack and get a better return and let Rollie develop Markstrom since we have Miller for two more years

  7. Anyone else think that Mighty Mouse Johnson should move up to Bantamweight if he wins against Dodson? He has nothing to prove other then that the fact that he's fighting against people that aren't up to his level! Also predictions for Saturday I got Cain winning but got a gut feeling Werdum might pull it off, Melendez, Gastelum, Rosa, Torres

  8. Has some of the same defensive strengths by the look of it but better skating and a bit more offensive upside. If he can consolidate the physical, crease-clearing, lane blocking part of his game like Willie and then develop some first-pass and puck-moving ability to go with his shot, he could end up being a better player than Mitchell. Lots of ifs there, though.

Well he looks like a solid pick but if he could develop good or even better than Mitchell I would be very happy!

  9. In fairness, using your reach/size to get in shooting lanes and box guys out doesn't tend to make many highlight reels and that's where his major strengths are.

Just because he's not a "sexy" prospect, doesn't mean he's not a good one.

is he like Willie Mitchell? ( just a comparable)

  10. Thanks. Yea only downside with Strootman but like Bastian, he'd likely split games with Carrick's knowing their injury history. I do love that Strootman is 25 though. Lots of mileage left in his tank specifically prime years.

I would actually prefer Schneiderlin over Strootman and Bastian but it looks like Everton and Arsenal are pursuing him pretty aggressively. Fonte is trying his best to keep Schneiderlin and Clyne at SaintsFC. Schneiderlin is 25 as well and a notch better than the other 2.

I think United will get Gundogun from Dortmund, Also on twitter many rumours were linking Schnederlin to Arsenal.. but the Clyne situation is interesting since Southampton gave him a deadline to sign a contract couple weeks ago and hasn't signed a contract makes me think he's coming here!!!

  11. Manchester United team needs: CB, RB, Winger/Attacker, Striker, 2 CMs, and probably even a GK. £100m+ easy gone imo and may even hit £150m+ if we land a top player.

    * = top player. Would only be able to get 1 most likely and they'd be the ones pushing it £150m+ if landed bought.

    RB (Clyne or Coleman)

    CB (Otamendi or Dragovic/Hummels/Godin)

    Winger/Attacker (Depay)

Striker (Chicharito gone, Falcao gone, Wilson loan leaving only 2 strikers...*Bale/Lacazette/Dybala/Vietto dream)

    CM (Gundogan)

    CDM (Strootman or Schweinsteiger/Schneiderlin)

G (Cech or Leno. Doubt we get Lloris now. He will cost £30m, more than we'll sell DDG for. No way we buy him for that much)

    Current team:

    GK: DDG, Valdes, Lindegaard, Amos

    RB: Valencia, Rafael

CB: Rojo, Smaling, Jones, Evans, McNair, Blackett

    LB: Shaw, Blind

CM: Carrick, Herrera, Fellani, Pereira, Cleverley

    LW: Young, Depay, Januzaj

    RW: Mata, Di Maria, Nani

    ST: Rooney, RVP, Hernandez, Wilson

    Red: likely to leave.

    Orange: uncertain future.

    Green: loan moves most likely.

Pretty much with the players at our disposal, 4-3-3 with a deep forward is the way to go. 3-5-2 is trash and out of the picture.

Red players: would want to keep Nani as a safety cushion. Versatile, he's picked up his game, and an extra body wouldn't hurt. LVG doesn't seem to like his risk taking though so yea. Di Maria is world class once he figures out his game. I'm sure he'll stay. Would be a shock otherwise. Mata is a great player but he's not a RW. Don't see him playing his strongest behind the ST and is being forced in at RW. A square block in a circle hole and creates a mismatch. RW is a position of concern and honestly, if DDG goes to RM, wouldn't be surprised if LVG gets Bale back to fix the concern. Would also make Mata expendable or can be kept as well. Evans and Rafael are goners plain and simple. Hernandez is off too. Cleverley likely gone as well.

Orange players: DDG is a pipe dream. Looks more and more like he's gone by the second. Di Maria is bound for a bounce back year and looks like he's staying. RVP is useful is deployed right. Seems to be regressing but still useful. If a top ST is bought in, that's probably the end of the line for RVP. If not, RVP stays. Scarce on strikers.

Green players: all benefit from loans. Can see everyone gone except for maybe Wilson just because we're so low on ST and he can play RW.

Goalie is a position of great concern. Either Chelsea will make us pay to get Cech (10 mill should easily get him). If not, Leno has to be the answer. He's the next big thing out of Germany and will be competing with Stegen when Neuer drops off. Would honestly prefer Leno even though Cech is a lot more proven. Leno/Valdes would do the job fine I think.

    Squad next season:

    1260255_Manchester_United.jpg

Additional players: mix of the green and red players that end up staying/not dealt.

    Costs:

    Depay £25m

    Otamendi £36m

    Clyne £15m

    Strootman £30m or Bastian £10m

    Gundogan £20m

    Leno £20m or Cech £10m

    Bale £30m + DDG

Total spending £170m. And that's taking into consideration the higher end prices plus the money back MUFC will get from selling their current players, the net spend should safely end up being below £150m. This reasonable/possible or a pipe dream? Depay and Otamendi are pretty much complete. Clyne and Gundogan are likely. Same is Strootman and if not, get Bastian for cheaper. Same with Leno, likely but if not, get Cech for cheaper. Bale is the only "long shot" imo but he's very much within the realm of possibility. I mean DDG's value is just embarrassingly messed. Team screwed it up and we'll be lucky to even get 1/3 of his worth. However, I'm sure LVG would want Bale if we gave him up as scoring and creating offensive chances is a struggle for this team and Bale would go a long ways in helping. And an add on of £30m on top of DDG is reasonable....again, imo.

What do you guys think - fantasizing or realistic?

I like the signings just don't like the Strooman one since he's a injury prone plus because of his knee, but it looks solid otherwise!!!

  12. Terrible defending by the Whitecaps, offensively we're playing fantastic other than shooting/ scoring but the first goal Ousted shoulda came out and dealt with the ball second goal was preventable as well; Also Kah is terrible smh hoping Parker gets more regular efforts, so he can replace Kah soon. Theres my rant at halftime!!!
