  1. It's funny how much Toronto FC is campaigning Defoe and Bradly it shows you how desperate they are turn their team around with attendance dropping.

Also this whole Camilo thing isn't anyone's fault other then Camilo and his agent, I hope the caps don't bring him back because he basically slapped the vancouver fans and management in the face

  2. there's no way he comes back he's 38 years old has done everything a fighter could possibly do, he got rocked in the first round but we'll never know what would of happened if this didn't happen, sad way to end his career. (silva's already in surgery) < hoping for a speedy recovery

  3. Then we will be known by classless fans because of the actions of a few and your fine with that? I guess you must be one of them. If I played on a hockey team on the other side of the continent for 8 months plus playoffs I would take every opportunity at seeing my family and friends because I wouldn't see them as much as any other regular person does...

lol if you haven't figured it out yet fans from the other teams already have labelled us that and it doesn't bother me one bit because it shows how smart they are placing every canucks fan because of 1% of those idiotic fans. I do feel bad for Lucic but he's a big boy he should handle himself and other side of the continent I didn't know Lucic was from Asia... also what player goes to a club after a big loss...

  4. Wow Lucic is only trying to chill with some of his buddy's he probably barely sees. This is just disgraceful and disrespectful to a hometown hero.

This just puts a horrible image on the city of Vancouver and the Canucks fan base...

he lives here in the off-season or he visits in the summer.... and also the image of Vancouver and fan base will never change we'll embrace the hate...

  5. First off if you watch the video he says he was hit 3 times then at the end he says 2. He was pretty drunk and I highly doubt he is 100 percent innocent when you factor in his " Don't you know who I am?" Comment and a previous domestic disturbance with his girlfriend in Boston and reportedly saying the same thing there Its obvious he has a chip on his shoulder.

He made a poor decision going down there and now rather than be accountible or say nothing he lashes out at an entire city?

Ironic they shipped Seguin out for possibly bringing shame upon the team for partying and now they have this to deal with.

I dont even care what team he plays for the actions of a few do not represent the many and its immature to suggest so.

also he said "Im going to kill you"

  6. My Team:

Kunitz Crosby Stamkos -> Proven Chemistry + arguably best sniper in the game

Perry Getzlaf Tavares --> Dominant Offensive juggernaut with size, finish, and grit

Couture Toews E. Staal--> Shutdown 3rd line (likely get more playtime than 2nd line against top-lines)

Giroux Bergeron Richards --> 2nd Shutdown Line with speed, F/O winning, sandpaper

St. Louis --> Last year's Art Ross winner and playing for Stevie Y will get a look

Keith-Subban --> Norris Winners and best L/R combo

Hamhuis-Weber --> Best friends and will look a lot like Suter/Weber from before

    Bouwmeester-Pietrangelo --> Established Chemistry, well-rounded pairing

Seabrook --> May slot in for Subban given proven chemistry

Luongo --> Previous gold medal winner, but the way price is playing has a short leash

Price --> Playing incredibly well right now

Smith --> Also reliable in case of injuries to 1/2

**I Realize Stamkos is injured, but he's a super-human athlete and will be back for the games I believe**

love your lineups only thing I would change is having Ward or Harding as the third goalie

  7. GSPs giving up the title apparently, taking time away from MMA and the UFC. Sounds like he will come back though.

it looks like he'll be back by next december at the latest, or when he sees johnny hendricks fight lawler he'll be more eager to return, whatever happens showdown joe has been correct with whats happened with gsp

  8. Also another interesting article about GSP mentor on Dana White

    GSP and Dana White

Dana White crossed the line at the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OL9KQjL05M, and it’s time he gives Georges St-Pierre the apology he deserves, according to Kristof Midoux.

The UFC President has taken a lot of heat over the last couple of weeks after hisblowup following St-Pierre’s controversial split decision winarrow-10x10.png over Johny Hendricks. St-Pierre, who is the UFC’s biggest pay-per-view-draw, owns UFC records for most wins and time spent in the Octagon.

Bruised and battered from his bout with Hendricks,

that he was going on an indefinite hiatus to clear his head and patch up some personal problems in his life.

At the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OL9KQjL05M, White explained that St-Pierre owed it to the UFC, fans and Hendricks to step up and offer an immediate rematch. According to White, St-Pierre lost the fight, and his entire team knew it.

It was an uncomfortable situation that shined a negative light on one of MMA’s most beloved stars. Many felt White’s decision to go on a public tirade was unfair to St-Pierre, who had dedicated years of his life as a company man and breadwinner for the UFC.

Why not check to see howarrow-10x10.png your fighter is doing? Why not go backstage to get a better feel of the situation before exploding in front of the media?

These were some of the questions from media and fans.

A day after the fallout from the press conference, Midoux, St-Pierre’s mentor and corner man, told Journal de Montreal that White called and apologized for his post-fight comments (h/t Fighters Only):

Few people know it, but the next morning [White] called Georges and told him ‘I’m sorry, I watched the fight again and you have indeed won. I spoke
    under the influence
of emotion.’ Georges told him not to worry, that he understood.

Despite Midoux’s claims, White went on UFC Tonight the following Wednesday and continued to publicly claim that St-Pierre owed Hendricks a rematch. He also stated that he hadn’t re-watched the fight, and he still felt like Hendricks deserved the decision.

It would seem like the MMA world is trapped in an unending battle of he said, he said.

Regardless, Midoux thinks a public offense deserves a public apology. He seems to feel like White is sweet-talking St-Pierre behind closed doors, while simultaneously trying to preserve his own public image:

    If I were [
    GSP
], I would ask for a public apology from White, who should say to the media that Georges has really won the fight. …What was said and done by Dana White was not correct. It confuses some roles. White enters the octagon to put on the belt. Georges goes there to fight as if his life depended on it. Georges is a lion that has respect, and White is a buffoon without respect.

UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta came galloping in on a white horse a little over a week ago to do damage control. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, he said that White was “misunderstood” and St-Pierre “doesn’t owe the UFC anything.”

Is White’s alleged private apology and Fertitta’s clarification enough to let bygones be bygones, or should White step up to the podium and address St-Pierre in the same manner he reprimanded him?

  9. GSP is set to due a meet and greet on Friday and he's going to answers questions as well

    http://www.cbc.ca/sports/georges-st-pierre-to-announce-future-plans-friday-1.2458529

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1883658-gsp-expected-to-make-announcement-on-future-at-friday-press-conference

Georges St-Pierre will shed light on his future later this week in Quebec City.

There has been a question-mark hanging over the UFC welterweight champion since his controversial winarrow-10x10.png over No. 1 contender JohnyHendricks last month at UFC 167. St-Pierre said immediately after the fight that he needed time away from his sport to take care of personal matters and ponder his future.

It appears the 32-year-old from Montreal has made up his mind.

St-Pierre, currently on vacationarrow-10x10.png in Dubai, confirmed by text to The Canadian Press that he will be announcing his future Friday.

As of Monday, even the UFC was in the dark as to their pay-per-view king's plans. UFC president Dana White told The Canadian Press that he was letting St-Pierre "have his time."

The unlikely venue is a skating rink at a Quebec City mall. St-Pierre's manager, Rodolphe Beaulieu, said it was a previously scheduled appearance, with the fighter slated to meet fans and sponsors.

St-Pierre will also take questions briefly from the media. While Beaulieu said St-Pierre was not making an announcement per se, he said the champion will answer questions.

St-Pierre (25-2) has not lost since April 2007, dominating the 170-pound division while becoming one of Canada's best-known athletes.

    Split decision

His split decision winarrow-10x10.png over Hendricks on Nov. 16 in Las Vegas extended his string of victories to 12, the longest current run in the UFC. It was his ninth successful title defence and ninth straight title defence, one behind former middleweight champion Anderson Silva in each category. And it was his 14th championship fight, one behind Randy Couture.

The victory also moved GSP past Silva for most wins in UFC title bouts at 12.

St-Pierre also extended his UFC mark for most championship rounds fought to 52.

'I need to think. I have stuff going on in my life...This is my personal life,'
    - George St. Pierre

But many, including White, scored the last fight for Hendricks. And St-Pierre's post-fight remarks about taking a break infuriated the UFC boss, who calmed down after meeting privately with the fighter.

The champion has not detailed the personal issues at play.

"I need to think. I have stuff going on in my life ... This is my personal life," St-Pierre told the post-fight news conference. "I cannot speak to you about this. You're a reporter, I know your job is to make things public. But I have a personal life, I keep personal some of my stuff."

A TMZ report said the champion is dealing with a family illness and a personal issue.

White told The Canadian Press that St-Pierre had told him the report was not true.

After meeting the champion privately after the fight, White said St-Pierre's issues "aren't as bad as he thinks they are."

"Yeah, we'll get through this," he added.

St-Pierre does not need to fight again. He is financially set, thanks to millions made in the cage and endorsements with the likes of Under Armour and Bacardi.

Should he decide to keep fighting, a lucrative rematch with Hendricks awaits.

  10. I’m a diehard Canucks fan and I’m going to bring up some unfortunate truths about the current situation this franchise finds itself in.

Let me ask you, the reader, whether you believe the Canucks will win the cup this year or sometime in the next several years? Are we better than the Chicago Blackhawks or the Pittsburgh Penguins?

By committing to the Sedins with new contracts we are also committing to the core of this team for the next four to five years. We’re committing to one of the older cores in the league that already statistically is trending downwards.

The ultimate goal for this franchise should be to win the Stanley Cup at all costs. Re-signing the Sedins means we won’t but good enough to win the Stanley Cup but we also won’t be bad enough to get the high draft picks that are so desperately necessary to compete for a Stanley Cup on year in year out basis.

It goes without saying that these top draft picks are invariably the key pieces that make up a vast majority of Stanley Cup winning teams. The Pittsburgh Penguins have Malkin and Crosby. The Chicago Blackhawks have Toews and Kane. The Los Angeles Kings have Doughty. The Boston Bruins are the only exception when it comes to a recent Stanley Cup winning team having a top five overall draft pick as a core part of the team.

The Sedins are arguably the best players in the history of the Canucks but would anyone doubt that their best accomplishments are behind them?

A lot of people, myself included, believe we have several prospects that in the future should pay dividends but are these going to be the key difference makers that finally push this team over the hump and win us a Stanley Cup?

A very optimistic view would believe that Bo Horvat develops into another Kesler in a few years and Shinkaruk a 30 goal scorer but if this were to happen would it do anything other than address the declining production from the Sedins and Burrows?

Subconsciously I think much of the fan base already realizes we won’t win a Stanley Cup with the Sedin twins anymore. The window has closed. This is the least amount of excitement there has been for this franchise since the last year of Nonis in ’08.

The Edmonton Oiler or Pittsburgh Penguin model of tanking to acquire may not be adviseable from a business perspective but neither is a decade of mediocrity. I know I will be the subject of criticism from fans who blindly worship our team but I believe the best path to winning the cup in the future does not involve re-signing the Sedin twins.

So Detroit should of done this long time ago... cause clearly they aren't cup contenders each year or wait they also draft top 10 to compete... Also the Oilers plan of drafting high isn't looking great they have top 6 forwards that are great but their defense sucks and their goaltending also penguins got lucky without drafting Crosby they wouldn't even won the cup
