  1. Need to read the article on the other page. They didn't send anything. It was a misunderstanding.
  2. That's ok. There is strength in being vulnerable. You have some sympathetic ears here, if you need them. Gunma is on the Kanto plain, right? Pretty rural?
  3. Agreed. Two of my biggest concerns for the larger area here, aside from the liquifaction and tsunamis (as if they weren't enough), are that Seattle has Mt Ranier so close that could be set off by the 'big one' and that the west coast of BC doesn't really have a military base to use in an emergency aside from Esquimalt and Chiliwack. I would assume Hwy 1 through Hope is impassable. I doubt we would get much help from outside in less than a week. This country's disaster response would be so hard to judge if we are talking a cataclysmic scale similar to this Sendai quake and tsunami.
  4. That's like wanting to know what lava smells like.
  5. You know the same thing could will happen to us right? FTFY. It is only a matter of time. The question is only if it will happen in our lifetimes, not whether it will happen at all.
  6. Sorry man . Don't mean to freak you out anymore than necessary. Just do what the Prime Minister said: Stay vigilant and aware. Get some water, some food, and a flashlight if you can. Edit: Just realized you are female. Sorry.
  7. I hope to hell you are right but I am not sure that is the science. There is every expectation that we could be hit by one this big. Believe it.
  8. Keep us updated if you can, please! Stay safe...
  9. With something big like this there are often many numerous aftershocks for days afterwards. I have never seen this many aftershocks that are this strong though. I do remember Chile had many but Japan has had over 40 in total but 10 above 5.2 already. There are often sympathy quakes, possibly the explanation for Oklahoma, all over the planet after one this big. Think of a reverberating bell. The really scary concept is that this 8.9 could be the pre-shock. This will be one terrifying night in Japan.
  10. USGS has just said Oklahoma?!? just had a 3.2 earthquake. 11. Earthquakes, man. Not tsunamis. We could very well have our own problems in the next few weeks.
  12. Ok, I hate to do this but.....earthquakes tend to circle the Ring of Fire in a clockwise fashion New Zealand Feb 22nd 6.3 Japan Mar 11th 8.9 Alaska/British Columbia/California/Chile ?????????
  13. The soon to be ex-leader of Libya? You know, the guy who likes killing his own people for sport?
  14. You know, when the world has crap like this to deal with why do we need Gadaffis too?
  15. I would think that Guam can't be too long off getting hit. Midway and Wake have a highest elevation of 6m apparently so if they get hit at all they are in serious trouble. The islands might not survive.
  16. Has anybody heard any news about Midway, Wake, Guam or the Marshalls? They are right in the path of the worst part.
  17. Pacific islands could just go missing......
  18. Just got home to see this... OMG.....words fail. Those long white buildings in the fields are greenhouses, aren't they? The scale is mind boggling.
  19. Burrows is terrible. The guy can't even skate.
