It's annoying being a fan and seeing the writing on the wall, and recognizing that years ago we should've become sellers and started a proper rebuild. While aquaman and Benning wanted to "retool" and continue to be "competitive". In doing so we've traded picks that became great players or prospects. It's hard to imagine what we could be right now if Aquaman took the hit and allowed a proper rebuild. Instead we will continue to be a borderline playoff competitor with no real chance of winning up, and no real chance of gaining a top 5 pick.

I agree 100%. I thought it was weird right away when we signed Mickeyev.
To have to sit a quality player like Hoglander or Garland every game going forward (until there are injuries) is inexcusable, especially when we are scraping the barrel to put out 6 defensemen that can minimally do their job. Giving Dickinson another chance to improve his value and to use that $$ and picks on a defensemen would've been ideal.
As many of us has said though, as much as we love Miller, I think we could all see that last year was the time to trade him. Teams that are great endure the short term pain for long term gain. One of the reasons Colorado became so good was because of the Duchene trade. Now we're seeing Ottawa start to rise up because of the players they got in the trade for Karlsson (Stutzle and Norris).
Now we're likely going to have to trade picks/prospects along with Miller in 4-5 seasons to rid ourselves of that contract.

Kuzmenko should've been the choice there -
Gotta love when a player has a hearing, but it's only a 2 minute penalty on the ice.
Don't understand how that wasn't an instant major + game. Insanely dangerous.-

When was the last time the Canucks had a decent PP2?? Garland, Boeser, Pearson, OEL (don't know the 5th) doesn't look too bad.

Getting Myers this season is fine. I like the 1.4M for him next season more. Then hopefully we can trade Pearson or waive Poolman to get some more space. Need $$ for Bo and Kuzmenko.

I hate paying for these errors Benning has made. Paid a 3rd rounder to get Dickinson, now pay a 2nd to get rid of him. Hard to properly build a future with constant moves like this (similar to trading all those junk contracts +1st to the Coyotes)

Tanner Pearson is such a waste of 3.25M. His first turnover led to the tying goal. 2nd turnover led to the OT winner...

The issue is they lose value when we're not playing well, so we don't trade them.
Then when we they do play welll then the team doesn't want to trade them because they're needed to help us make the playoffs.
It's been an endless cycle for years.
