  1. Point at all the stats you want, Higgy and Hansen have a problem hitting the net. Yes Higgins has a goal today, on pace for a great season. Still, he doesn't get the goals in tight, they often come when he has time to shoot. Any play where he has to react quick, it usually goes wide, or he fans on it. Guess which kind come in the playoffs. Hansen is even worse. I think they can both make a great contribution here, but there should only be room for 1 of em in the top 6.

  2. Dez Bryant is such a whiner. He thinks he is a top WR when he isn't, not even top 5-7 in my books.

Dez is as good as any receiver not name Calvin Johnson. Every time he gets the targets, he puts up huge numbers. That team is such a mess though, they don't protect the QB well. Every other week Dez ends up with only a handful of passes, even then he usually squeezes in a TD. When he hits double digits in targets, he's almost always over 100yds and a score. I don't know if its Romo, or the coach, but it's like they refuse to throw to him on a consistent basis.

Dallas is just a wreck, listen in on Dez mice'd up for the Pack game, kind of a goof, but seemingly the only player who gave a **** about the outcome of the game.

  3. Really?? Iginla is >>>>>>>> Bergeron, Backes, Richards, and Toews?.... so 0 cups >>>>>>>>>>> 4 cups with more to come?... thanx for the sound logic there tips.

Dafuq? Iggy is certainly the best of the bunch there, like by far...so I dunno wut you're arguing.

Im talking bout a 22 year old 30g+ NHL player, and a prospect. Comparing either of them to potential ceilings, in no way means they will achieve the same team success....

  4. Yet one injury in the top four and...

    Hamhuis - Garison

    Stanton - Tanev

    Alberts - Weber

    ... yeah no

Corrado could come in if Eddie was moved. No rules against picking up another d-man either, im sure there will be plenty of good 3rd pairing guys to be had at the deadline.

  5. If ya wanna get through the west, ya need a combo of overacheivers, and guys playing in roles beneath them. We have Kes on the 2nd, playing like a 1st liner. That's a start, we have Higgy and Santo playing above their expectations, also good. We could really use 1 more of the Kesler type, someone who can break well into the 50 point range, maybe even push 60. That with a good rebound from Burrows, and continuing upswing of Booth, Kass and Hansen...Then we'd have ourselves a stew.

  6. He can produce like one if given the chance, but it's not likely to continue in the playoffs... It takes a lengthy hot streak for him to hit that pace. One guy like him would be fine as our #6, not both him and Santo. That just screams first round sweep. We have gone through this for years, guys scoring above their normal rate when given the chance, only to fall flat on their face in the post season. Higgins and Hansen, 1 combined point over the last 2 playoffs.

Adding a legit 2nd liner, not only makes Kesler and our 1 remaining "tweener" better, it stacks our 3rd line, and bottom 6 in general to what is needed over a long run.

  7. Time to split the twins back up. They have been playing like crap all month, completely avoid scoring areas when they have the puck. They use their chemistry as a crutch, worrying more about the cycle than the score.

Its like they have lost their creativity on the rush, always slowing down and deferring to the trailer, half the time the guy has a backchecker on their butt and can only get a weak wrister off from a distance.

Hank especially seems to get a boost when away from his bro, they always play great when reunited after a break as well.

  8. I dont think you can justify trading Horvat for Kane, by using that you wouldve traded Schneider for Kane.... hey I wouldve too, at the time. BUT given the player that Horvat is looking like he will represent, you just dont trade players like that. All they do is win.

Id love to land Evander Kane, but not at the expense of Bo Horvat +. And thats exactly what Winnipeg will want in the returning package. Kanes value is pretty high, but Horvats value... well it's likely to only increace. Its just not good business to trade an asset whos trending upward at the pace that Horvat currently is. Going from 1/2 a ppg, to .9 ppg the following season, to scoring 16 goals in 21 playoff games, to ppg status in both the Memorial Cup, and the U18 Ivan Hilnka tourney, and currently with 42 points in 27 games and +17... while being the consencus choice for the top shut down, 2 way, and faceoff center in the league.

The 4 players Bo is most compared to.... Backes, Bergeron, M. RIchards, Toews.... all of which are >>> Kane.

Now he may never turn into those players, but the fact that scouts just gush about his all around polished game, and how much of a clutch player he is by seemingly willing his team to win... Thats where the comparisons to Toews come into play.

I agree with the analysts on this one. Bo Horvat at #9 will be the steal of the 2013 Draft. And I also think that at the end of the day, he's going to be a far more valueable player than Evander Kane.

If you wanna compare Bo to those guys, than Kane is comparable to Iginla, who is >>>>>>>>> all of them. Kane can help us now and next year, vital seasons and playoffs in the twin era. Kane will likely improve just as much as any of our prospects, same age as Kassian. Bo is still a gamble, though looking to be a pretty one sided die this season.

  9. I think you'd have to do something along the lines of Kassian (drafted same year, 9 positions back from Kane and still has lots of potential). Tanev, our 1st for 2014 and Jensen to Winnipeg for Kane, 3rd round in 2014 and maybe another lower end prospect contract that Winnipeg has little interest in to balance out contract numbers.

    That "might" get him here.

Might get an autographed jersey of his.

  10. Dez Bryant scores early, 2 targets for the rest of the game..and they wonder why they lose.. Never seen an elite receiver so completely wasted as he has this year. Just put that thing up and let him make plays. Jefferey is the number 2 on CHI, gets wayyy more passes, regardless if hes open or not.

  11. he hasn't been a liability any more than any other player. He makes good plays, he makes bad plays........they all do it and he's no more guilty of brain farts than anyone else on that team. He's played quite well this season despite being put with a never ending cycle of guys at the lower end of the skill scale.

Right now he's the lower end skill guy, and anyone who plays with him is the one with an anchor. Hard to say he doesn't get good linemates when they are all better than him.
