  1. A wise man once said, "it's a process". Plus my goal is not to look like the guys from pain and gain which in my opinion is overdoing it. 5'11 200 pounds is mark wahlberg territory haha. Can't even put his arms by his side.
  2. Anything past 180 is a pipe dream for me lol. Maybe in 20 years, but that will mostly be beer. I'd be happy at 170
  3. Well I should clarify I don't have a beer belly or anything so I could probably tone my abs without doing any cardio. I've got a chris Tanev like frame except I'm only 5'11" and gaining weight is definitely a challenge. I definitely have to eat big but at the same time I don't want it going straight to my stomach so I'm in a bit of a pickle.
  4. someone gets it. There ya go. muscle weighs more than fat, so tone the abs, hit the gym hard for the next few weeks and bob's your uncle, 170 pounds.
  5. Just wanna tone my abs. Doesn't mean that's all I'm working on. Looking to gain mass elsewhere with shoulders, chest, bicep and tricep workouts.
  6. hoping to reach 170 by the end of the summer which is a good weight for my height/body type. Also trying to define my abs a little so planning on doing the grind a few times to help burn a little belly fat even though there's not much there. Gaining muscle mass seems to be my biggest problem. Maybe I'm not lifting heavy enough though I do keep my reps around 5-7 and the 3rd set is definitely a struggle. Probably have to eat bigger as well since I sometimes skip meals altogether.
  7. Seeing as though he's a Ryan O'Reilly duplicate according to Ray Ferraro and O'Reilly made the Avs the year he was drafted as a 2nd round pick, I think Horvat will be fine. I thinks it's better to play him now being surrounded by vets like the Sedins and Kesler rather than later when they're retired and the team sucks forcing Horvat to be the guy.
  8. Well that's how you win in this league unfortunately
  9. I'd like to see a defense oriented coach. Guy Boucher perhaps
  10. Bieksa is scared of being yelled at and doing bag skates if he plays like crap.
  11. I still would have gone for Allen's 12 year track record over Garrison's 2. Come to think of it, his skating isn't bad because it really isn't skating. It looks like he's running out there. I guess for me I would expect every d-man making over 4M to be excellent skaters.
  12. yea he's such a terrible skater. I guess he's good defensively and has a hard shot but so does Bryan Allen and he makes a million less.
  13. I know and I wish he had signed with another team so he can be a bust somewhere else. The guy hasn't paid his dues. Guys like Bieksa, Hamhuis all played 6-7 seasons before finally earning the retirement contract. Garrison plays 2 full seasons and gets his big contract right after the ELC. Where is the bridge contract? He should have been given a 2 year deal and after that if he performs then you sign him long term. From what I've seen so far, the guy is probably the worst skater on the back end next to maybe Alberts, and he can't make clutch plays in the offensive zone which means he has little hockey sense.
  14. We could have gotten Ehrhoff for a cap less than Bieksa's. That's what I don't get. The term is longer sure, and there's a bit of a signing bonus, but I like to think this team can afford to pay it. And Garrison has very few playoff games under his belt so you can't really say he will be better. What bothers me is Garrison getting a fat contract after 2 full seasons in the NHL. Guys like the Sedins and Kesler had like 8 seasons before getting their pay raise. I don't think Garrison deserved what he got.
  15. mmhmm.. And you're basing this off what? His one good season? Out of the 2 full seasons that he's had? I don't understand why we just didn't keep Ehrhoff. He wanted to stay, he's a far better puck mover and Skater than Garrison, we went the cup finals with him, and his cap hit is only 4M after he had a 50 point season! Maybe his term is a little long, but the cap is low and you know you're getting 5-6 good years out of him.
  16. He's only played 2 seasons prior to this one FULL TIME. Out of those 2 seasons, only 1 was a good one. You don't give 4.6M for 6 years to a player who had 1 good season. That's like if Jonathan Cheechoo was signed for 6 years at 7M for his 56 goal season. You're clueless if you think Garrison is worth anything near what he got.
  17. Not convinced with the signing yet; in my opinion, he should be making about 1M less per year. Definitely not worth anything near 4.6M for 6 years that's for sure. He's not a very good skater nor does he have much hockey sense. On the positive, he's ok defensively and has a good shot (albeit not very accurate). Only time will tell, but I don't think he will live up to the contract.
  18. The 136 PIM is what makes him a goof.
  19. Lets hope Kassian isn't a goof like Hartnell.
  20. It will be tough for him to live up to expectations with all the pressure of a hockey crazed city.
  21. You sort of have to expect it when the oilers brought out the big guns (Gretzky and Coffey) and Gillis didn't promise ice time. He should have at least lied to to Schultz by promising him ice time with Edler. Oh well, lets hope he's a bust.
