You don't scout stats, you scout the player.

Come on you should know that there are so many things that need to be factored in.

Sure of course there are other factors to consider than a stat line and that's why I'm asking. Imo Glass and Vilardi bring other intangibles like playing a more physical game. Unless Necas is burning up the scoresheet I just don't see why they would have him ahead of those 2

    He's not 'fast'. He's not a 180lb waterbug.

For his size I'd say he has slightly above average speed and what he lacks in out right 'GO!' he makes up for with excellent positioning, awareness and ability to read the play.

Again, Malhotra is his upside IMO.

Nothing wrong with that, if he tops out as malhotra that would be great. Every team needs 3rd/4th line grinder/pkers. I like the idea of younger guys growing together as a core for the future.

Agreed, if you take anything from that article, it's this.  The guy is a work horse just like Bo and it's part of the reason Bo is blowing away the #3 C ceiling everyone pegged him with.  They want to continually get better, they are never satisfied.  Vilardi will be a top line center in the league.

    This....exactly

What's this "rumour" that the Devils and Flyers are interested in trading down????

TSN NHL insider Darren Dreger joined the TSN1040 afternoon show in Vancouver this afternoon and had a juicy rumor for Vancouver Canucks fans: don’t be surprised if the Devils or Flyers trade down in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Currently sitting with the 5th overall selection, Canucks president Trevor Linden and general manager Jim Benning would love to be picking 1st or 2nd in the draft, but the sticking point may be the asking price from the draft’s top two teams. Dreger also asserts that the Colorado Avalanche and Arizona Coyotes may also factor into trade discussions, so the Canucks won’t be alone and could find themselves in a bidding war.

When asked what it would take for the Canucks to acquire either pick, Dreger speculates that a package of the 5th overall selection along with a second round pick or top prospect might do the trick, but failed to highlight specific players.

    Dreger trolling as usual
