Also would teams be allowed to talk about trades right now, to be pulled off when trading resumes, or would that sort of fall into the same situation and face consequences for doing so. goalie13 Posted April 24, 2012 Share Posted April 24, 2012 It's not just that they can't talk to the players themselves (or their agents), they also can't talk in public about players that are still under contract. You cannot signal any kind of intent to go after a player until they are actually a free agent, and not a moment sooner. As for trades, I might be totally wrong on this, but I vaguely remember in the past some minor trades being made while the playoffs were still on, but by teams that were already eliminated or that never made the playoffs at all?
