bd71
I don't watch much WHL or the memorial cup but what's with the Lazar hype? Sure, he has decent playoff stats, but his regular season stats are far from spectacular. When was the last time a centre with 31 points in 63 games regarded as a top pick? Baercheese
Same thing happened to Matt Duchene. He had a very good regular season but went absolutely crazy in the playoffs and flew up to the third overall pick. He surpassed Hodgson as the best player on the Battalion in that playoff run. I think he had pretty close to a goal a game in the playoffs. Outstanding playoff performances always get a player noticed pre-draft because it is fairly uncommon for an 18 year old to dominate in the CHL during the playoffs.
