canucks.ftw
Hey all. I was discussing with a few classmates of mine today and we had one question left un-answered if a lockout were to occur. If indeed there is a lockout, does the season that is missed count towards a players contract ? For example... Schneider signed for three years and his contract is up in 2015. If this season is lost, does that move it to 2016? Thanks.
JordanEberle
no the contract is based on date signed not games played
CanucksFanMike
no it doesn't. Also players dont get paid their year's salary even though the length of the contract is shortened by a year.
Ossi Vaananen
Didn't know this either, thanks guys. I hate the potentiality of a lockout, I'd rather plug my ears and stomp my feet. Hooray for selective ignorance.
