JIM BENNING HAS HAD AMPLE TIME TO demonstrate that he is a good GM.Unfortunately, all he has shown that he is an above average, perhaps, a very good HEAD SCOUT. His decision making, and his asset management  has been very, very POOR.(giving away Draft choices and receiving little or nothing in return) It is long past due for the Canucks to replace this MANAGEMENT TEAM, and replace it with a younger more savvy, competent GM, not just a Head Scout, with management aspirations.

For all of Benning's "good drafting," the Vancouver Canucks have made little progress to become a top five team, and in fact, are still a stagnant, mediocre team, despite having talents like Hughes, and Petterson.

Ownership, you need to find, and put into place, a talented, new management team, NOT PREVIOUSLY FIRED RE-TREADS.

The Canucks have been  in the NHL for over 50 years, and have yet to WIN ONE STANLEY CUP.The Fan Base is tired, and angry, over the continued MEDIOCRITY OF THE VANCOUVER CANUCKS. Will it take another 25 years, or 50 more years for this Canuck team to bungle, and fumble their way to more future INCOMPETENCE?

The Vancouver Canucks seemingly have a good scouting staff, but GM, and Assistant GM, who have had a good run as executives with the Canucks, are the KEYSTONE COPS, OF THE NHL.

I submit, GM, AND ASSISTANT GM NEED TO BE REMOVED AS SOON AS THE 2021 SEASON IS OVER!

do you have a list of savvy competent gm's that are unemployed and looking to work in Vancouver?

  2. I can't speak for the team, but I've only just looked at the schedule, and it's depressing the hell outta me..

lots of 3 - in - 4's, 3 in a row against the same team, playing only 6 teams, never leaving the country.. not to mention all the covid protocol.. I wonder if the boys aren't all that excited??

although I suppose that's the same for every team.. no excuses!!

Imo Play Baer too trade Baer.

Hes a fine regular season player. Unfortunately im not sure which line he would permently would fit in too tho. Baer and Gaud did have chemistry last season camp. 3rd line scoring could help. Baer also could be used too help rest any of the top 6 winger spots in this compacted season.

    Go Team Blue
    Go Team White

    Go Seahawks

Baer seems to be a great guy, always liked his attitude.. his track record, however, doesn't scream 'fine regular season player'.. career high 35 points and multiple injuries including concussion issues.. it might be in his best interest to retire after this contract..

Maybe he'd suit the taxi best this year, maybe that's what you were implying? and as you pointed out - where would he slot in? but in the long run anyway, I think the team has moved past him

I don't disagree but at what point do habitually offended people move on and live their lives. Once this passes they’ll move on to the next thing that “offends” them and frankly it's tiring at best now.

    late to the discussion here..

has it been established who is offended? legit first nations complaints or simply virtue signaling from white sjw's?

reason I ask - I know a handful of first nation people, all of which roll their eyes at this kind of stuff

cant find a video of it but when the canucks first brought back the stick in rink jersey 50 cent was wearing it on the tonight show with jay leno. also in happy gilmore you can see a canucks pennant on his apartment wall.

happy Gilmore was filmed in van so that makes sense.. no clue on the other shows

  6. Just a quick question...

JB seems pretty pleased with the Michaelis signing, but I'm curious who the other target is.. I assumed he was referring to Tryamkin, but he can't really choose another team - except in the KHL I suppose.. is there someone else?

“We had a short list this year; there was, like, two guys we went after really hard, him being one of them. So we’re excited that we got him signed. The other player we should hear in the next couple of days whether he’s going to choose us or another team.”

The way this is going the panic could be worse than the virus as not only are they cleaning out the grocery stores but also the gun stores. Gonna shoot the virus I guess.
I can’t help but think this season is done as this virus in the US is taking off like an Australian bush fire.

gotta protect their White Gold.. sheesh..

Flames fans had to step up with a go fund me campaign (which many players have donated to)

to me this is even more embarrassing to the flames ownership group

this is after the Calgary citizens Had to fund their pathetic new arena

    from a news outlet :

A fundraiser for hourly employees at the Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome has raised more than $39,000 after the venue owner told hourly staff they won't be paid for shifts lost during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Raymond Lau, who started the fundraiser, is criticizing Calgary Sports and Entertainment for not paying employees when other sports organizations are doing so.

Flames players Milan Lucic, Sam Bennett and Zac Rinaldo, along with the wives of players TJ Brodie and Mark Giordano, have contributed to the Calgary fundraiser so far.

Alright, I'm desperate. I still have this on my PVR. Got some cold ones in the fridge and I'm watching this at 700pm tonight. I'm guessing if I could fit you all in my living room I would have no shortage of guests. If I start posting about the game as if it's live it's because the beers are flowing oh so well, lol. Hurry back NHL.

Update: Just learned that my upstairs neighbours who I share laundry with and have had close contact with have been sick for about a week now and the father has been running a very high fever.

Maybe I’m paranoid but I think they should be self isolating but they haven’t been and have been working and going about there life as usual. And they failed to make me aware of this.

    balls man..

why are people so inconsiderate? it's just common decency at the best of times, let alone during a global pandemic

Shows how bad the Benn signing was, when he is worse than Fanta.  And is Myers much better (really) than those two?

so it turns out. Fanta was a really good signing.. too bad Benn wasn't on the same deal - a one year league minimum show me deal.

I'm guessing they were both signed as placeholders until big Tram, OJ etc were stepping in. still an upgrade on last season though

I wonder if there's any weight to the Gud comment about lack of team defensive structure.. not that he faired too well after Van, but it's not a comment you hear everyday from ex players. and we see evidence all the time of defensive weakness. perhaps Benn would be better if NB was replaced?
