  1. PS his backhand is sick. Might be my favourite skill of his.
  2. Liked him before. Like him even more now. The kid is a force. Opposing players bounce off him. Even incidental contact seems vicious when he gives it out. How often do you find a kid that strong, with a shot that good, who also happens to be the fastest skater in the rink? Excited for this kid
  3. Love that backhand of yours Jake. I hope the new shoulder lets you fling that puck in a Canucks jersey for years to come. Great pick. I'm behind you 100% and I wish you the absolute best. You seem like bright tough kid with lots of talent. Welcome to the Canucks Jake. PS I Hope you don't mind being unfairly lambasted and personally attacked online by hundreds of faceless anonymous losers every day of the rest of your life. I would say you would probably get this no matter what team you played for in the NHL, but in Vancouver, they just do it with a certain ultimate ignorance and pure enmity. I'm sorry Jake for what the idiots will say. It just comes with the territory here.
  4. Uhh, they're done. The Habs are just Priceless.
  5. Good coach is looking good now. AV kind of had to go. He had nothing new to try I Vancouver without a serious injection of new bodies. He is a great coach and the best in Vans history for my money. I think most of all he had to go because of what he represented.....the 2011SCF defeat. Unfortunately AV and all the core players are burned into everyone's memory as the face of the collapse at the finish line. Boston couldn't beat us at hockey so they bludgeoned us, taunted us, disrespected us, and somehow managed to make us look like the bad guys. It wasn't hard here in Canada, as everyone outside Vancouver hated the Canucks already. (Blame Ron McLean?), and the media inside Vancouver seemed to want to sabotage everything going for the blue and green. Not to mention the utter destruction of downtown after game 7. Brutally embarrassing. All this stuff leaves it's mental mark. AV may not have been able to get over 2011, and the fans certainly haven't and AVs face just kept reminding everyone of what might have been. Unfortunately Luongo (gone now), Sedin's, Kesler, Edler, Burrows and others have all shown signs of long term damage between the ears from that series, and who can blame them? The goals, the hits, the taunts, the bites, the non-calls, and the lopsided scores may all be forgotten, but the FEELING, that powerless feeling, surely has left its mark. Like the impotent rage that still burns in every adult male who was bullied by the guys and ignored by the girls all through school. I fear the current core may never erase the scars of the 2011 tragedy. Yes AV's time was up. Two quick playoff exits and a dwindling offence. During those playoff appearances, the players looked afraid to make the sacrifices required to even sniff at the cup after that emotional disaster. As long as AV would be here he would represent the crushing defeat at the hands of the Boston Bruins in 2011. It's not fair. But it's true. It may be the same for the rest of the team too. Yes AV is gone and he had a better date. Our carefree rebound relationship with Torts started out fun, but he abused us, and now we're alone again. I love the current core. I will always root for the the Canucks. The guys on this team for the past 5-7 years have been awesome. I have never been more into Canucks hockey than with this core, and I have been a fan since 94. The Canucks in 2010-2011 played the most exciting brand of hockey I have ever witnessed. Sadly, the team with its current core will never be as good as it was that year, and it wasn't enough. I think most people who look at things objectively can agree on that.
  6. Ok sure. But Montreal has enough little speedy forwards to be considered a "little speedy team." Seems to be working out pretty well for them.
  7. Pretty sure Nylander is a girl.
  8. Oh no. He will flop. I know this.
  9. Ekblad: flop Reinhart: flop Bennett: flop DL Colle: flop Draisaitl: flop Nylander: girl Ehlers: flop Ritchie: flop Virtanen: flop Kapanen: flop There. Now everyone should be happy.
  10. We'll see. If Desharnais hoists the cup this year you better eat some crow.
  11. I'm sorry, did you just say Kassian wins all the board battles? Yep you did. You're retarded.
  12. YouTube + idiots = experts.
  13. This. I think many on here would rather the Canucks pick the prospect they DONT WANT and have him bust. They would rather be right than get behind whoever is picked or trust a professional scout. They just want to say I told you so.
  14. The prospect I like is WAY better than the prospect you like. The prospect you like is a TURD. The prospect I like will definitely bring Vancouver a cup and go on to be a first ballot hall of famer. The prospect you like cannot tie his skates properly. If he ever gets to play in an NHL game he will cry like a baby in it and it will be his last. It will be the downfall of the entire franchise and the team will be sold to Seattle. If you look at the facts the information is all there. It's fact. You can't even argue with it because it's so objective all you are doing is ignoring the proof. There is no question.
  15. Is this Bieksa's first time wearing the team Canada sweater? And he gets the captaincy? This is awesome. Glad his leadership qualities are being recognized.
  16. Right or wrong his point isn't about race. He's trying to say the NA hockey coaching, systems, competition, culture etc produces better players in the long run. You just made about race. Racist
  17. How many points did Drouin get with Ehlers?
  18. No, you turd burglar. The 30 points that Drouin HELPED him get HE STILL EARNED. Some of you seem to think that this is a stats secret. That 30 of Ehlers actually "belong" to Drouin because he also had a role in them. Will somebody please post how many points Drouin got when Ehlers was in on the play and on the ice and all that. Maybe then we can see just how many of Drouins points actually "belong" to Ehlers.
  19. You're right. Hockey IQ is another thing that is very difficult to improve. And I agree that it is more valuable than speed alone. That is why I have Bennett Reinhart MDC and Draisaitl ranked higher than Ehlers. These guys have better vision and playmaking ability. But you have to admit that speed is not Ehlers' only asset. He can make plays, has wicked moves and has a great shot. A pure scorer. I didn't make my point clear. I think some suggest that the big wingers like Ritchie will get faster and doubt whether Ehlers will get bulkier. The safe bet is the opposite. Ehlers will put on a minimum of 15 lbs in the next 2 years and Ritchie will never be faster than he is today.
  20. I almost hope Ehlers is picked in the top 5 just so our new GM is off the hook whatever the kid turns out to be. If he's the next Bure we never had a chance to pick him and nobody gets crucified. If he's a bust he's someone else's problem and nobody gets crucified.
  21. Draisaitl is unbelievably talented. Big guy, soft hands, crazy vision. What don't you like? Is it speed? Some others have questioned speed but to me he just looks like he always has his head up looking for the great play.
