Kazmanian Devil
I got my game out by smashing the PS3 when this happened to me.

Kyle0811
Yep, the dirtbag is on the IR until its fixed. I need to find a credible local repair shop.
DollarAndADream
Is the Legend Card online? If so, it will still be there. If it's in BeAPro I'm not so sure. I've had 4 PS3's YLOD on me. Well, 3 of them was the same PS3 that Sony fixed and sent back. The 3rd time they gave me a new one and that one broke too, so I just dished out $250 for a Slim. 22Sedinery33
I just opened my ps3's top half half and cleaned all the dust I could, thought at first it was a loose wire or something but it was just dust. Closed it up after and it works great now. If your not comfortable in doing that then gotta take it in to the shop, call up sony if you still have the warranty or bestbuy/futureshop warranty. Kyle0811
the Legend card is online, great I should be safe then. How did you go about sony fixing? How much did it cost? I've been searching online for PS3 fix-it centers and do it yourself videos, But I am unsure if I want to attempt to do it myself, nor do I trust a random un-credited "repair" center. nd84
I don't know if you were able to get the disc out if you haven't do the fan test -Turn the PS3 main switch off - Hold the eject button - While holding the eject button still, switch the PS3 main switch back on - Let go of the eject button - Fan will go at its highest speed, while doing this it will eject disc - Fan will turn down and yellow light will flash, when this happens turn switch off and back on There is a chance the YLOD will be gone after this but it didn't work for me. On a side note, does anyone know a permanent fix for the YLOD problem? It seems like all the fixes I've seen, including SONY, are all pretty pricey and TEMPORARY. I've seen a lot of reviews saying that several months later YLOD would appear again.
