NUCKS4CUP 28
No Zdeno did. Look at their first two games against the habs when he wasn't feeling well. Thomas wouldve been lit up if it wasnt for him.
kmotamed
Not sure if we should make this a racial issue... But yes, some Russians would be nice!
DS4quality
It's not racial, it's ethnic. But look at the teams who have won the cup, the core of players are mostly Canadians, we have 1 in our top 6, and 2 in our top 9...barely
Truculence
Keep the Swedes. Lose Kesler. When he's off his game, he's an embarrassment to humanity.
Brackenreid
Obviously, Euros like Swedes (Edler), Danes and others can't win us the cup. They are too soft for today's NHL. They are not built for the playoffs. Now, the Americans like Kesler, Booth and Higgins are all on-and-off guys. Not talented enough. The only solution is to accumulate as much Canadians into the system like what Chicago and Boston did and win us the Cup. The only exception to this is Luongo and Bieksa. They are Canadians but they fall into the category of the Americans.

gradin123
I'd like more BC players. Losing a guy like Willie Mitchell who actually cared about this city and its fans was a mistake. Especially since the guy they got instead, Ballard has been a bust and it also cost the Canucks Grabner and a first round pick. After 2010, the Canucks simply walked away from Mitchell because of his concussion. He really wanted to stay in Vancouver but Gillis didn't want him back. He ended up signing a two year contract in LA for $7M($3.5 per- which is less than Ballard makes) but had the Canucks committed to him early in the offseason he probably would have signed for even less to stay in Vancouver. If Mitchell and Grabner are on the Canucks last year instead of Ballard then the Canucks likely would have won the cup. Ballard provided nothing in the playoffs before or after Hamhuis went down. Truculence
But at least when Kesler is off his scoring game, he still contributes in other ways. Where as if the Sedins are off their game they're damn near invisible.

Columbo
Have to say I agree somewhat, and I'm a huge Sedin fan. Their societies definitly don't breed the type of player need for todays game but that being said, today's game is getting pretty thuggish. NUCKS4CUP 28
Other ways being what? Diving? Beaking off? Cheapshotting? The guy is a first-class douche. If he doesn't bring his A-game and produce, he's a cancer.
GLASSJAW
We came one game from winning the Cup last year. And our "star" Canadian player, Luongo, did not exactly shine in the 4 games we lost to Boston.
