For those of you too young to know about Quinn, he brought in and coached Linden, Bure, Ronning, Courtnall, Mclean, Lumme, and many others. He currently is a part owner along with Michael Buble of the Vancouver Giant's.

...Are you saying...we should hire Michael Buble as the next head coach of the Vancouver Canucks?... :bigblush:

Patrick Roy could be interesting. He has a winning mentality and knows what it takes to win a Cup, but with the level headed egoless and fair mind of Babcock.

Marco Sturm would be amazing, that is if he decides to retire from his amazing hockey career this year

Why would you even want Linden to coach the Canucks? Do you want to lose ? LOL. Pretty sure you need to have valid experience before just "jumping" into a coaching position for the strongest regular season team twice in a row with a SCF appearence last year.

I'll pass on Linden. Maybe Calgary could use him :bigblush:

You must be talking about a different Patrick Roy. Level headed? Egoless? You're about as clueless as they come, buddy.

You are talking about Patrick Roy right? Just want to make sure...no specific reasons...

Just for giggles, and COMPLETELY off-topic, trade for Marchand, and have a line of Burrows-LaPierre-Marchand... most hated line in hockey... also, one that could score enough goals to not have to worry about a coaching change. My two cents, after a couple of beer. Go Nucks

If AV was fired (which he will not be) then I would want Naslund or Mactavish

AV is about to have a president's trophy winner lose in the first round in decisive fashion. If that's not grounds for firing a coach, then what is?

Naslund has no experience, and MacT is more of the same. I want Patrick Roy. He has experience coaching juniors, and he can light a fire under most people, which is what this team needs instead of Mr. PassiveAggressive.

Are you CRAZY??? Trade Green for ONE first round pick?? He's restricted after this season.... He WILL get an offer sheet for 7-8 million from a number of teams regardless if he plays another minute for us or not. That offer sheet would be worth 4 first round draft choices.

Some fans overrate their players, and then there is this guy.

How about ME! I've lead the Canucks to 2 stanley cups already in NHL 12... which of these so called experts can claim that kind of resume!

If I get chosen, I promise I will come and ask the CDC for every important decision...

After Aquilini hires me as the GM to lead the next rebuild after checking out CDC for advice, I promise to hire you, my man.

I only skimmed through the first page (and there was at least one serious suggestion in there of Sutter or Don Hay), but why on earth anyone would think just because a player had a good career here while being very respected in the city they would be a good coach is beyond me.

He hasn't coached anywhere - not junior, minors, Europe, etc - so why would he be able to step in and be more effective than our Jack Adams winning coach who has years of experience?

what about Guy Carbonneau? He took a not very good Montreal team places, defensively responsible (selke winner 3 times when he played) and his systems allow for North South offence and utilization of speed.
Sig space too small.

No, you stated it wrong. Read over the post again. You definitely say Patrick Roy has those traits, presumably by accident.

i think the 7th man should be the coach - each week on this forum we discuss game plans and crap and then hire some to do exactly what we say. All our brainpower combined would make us unstoppable.
