People who say paying for expensive (well, I don't consider $100 all that expensive if you use something often enough) earbuds isn't worth it, then you haven't heard a good pair of headphones. They blow the Sony/Phillips/SkullCandy/etc cheap ones out of the water. I can't even listen to those anymore, they sound so distant and trebley.
