CBC and the Canucks

Vancouver Canucks existed from 1970. I know the Vancouver Millionares (is that what they were called?) did win it in 1915, but that was obviously a completely different organisation.

And the fact about Winnipeg is also quite funny since they have just got a team again after 10 years or so of not having one. While you are at it, why don't Seattle have a Stanley Cup yet?

CBC continue to render themselves irrelevant to hockey fans. Their constant refrain that HNIC is a national institution is indication enough that the product is abysmal. HNIC was the best sports product years ago when there was no other alternative. Today they lose to much better products from TSN, Rogers, heck even the Score is better. But that's okay. We subsidize this toronto based trash. A Government funded broadcaster that targets a local audience and ignore the rest of the country.

An example of how poor CBC is. LA Kings win the cup and after the presentation and on ice celebrations, CBC cut to their star analysts, Ron & Don. What is the topic of conversation? The Devils players are wearing nice ties when they leave the arena!!! That guy on the ice is a cameraman working for CBC and he is going to retire soon. He's a real professional because he shows up for morning skates- what a guy. Thanks for that intriguing insight CBC. What would we do without you.

comon guys...they were talking about expectations to win the cup. i guarantee you half this board thought we would steamroll the kings.

yes the kings underachieved, but no body at the time was calling that. anyone in the top 16 can win the cup, and you dont have to win the conference/division to do it.
