Im tired of MG's act, all talk no walk. He promised to make "BOLD" moves and not afraid to make trades, 5 years later were still waiting for that 'bold' trade.

Hodgson for Kassian was a pretty bold move lol

Keep in mind, bold doesn't have to mean beneficial. Trading Vancouver's favorite player at the time was literally the boldest thing you could've possibly done.

But yeah, he's a terrible GM.

Well said. Everyone wants Schneids and he hasn't even play a full season as a starter, supposedly he is the starter this yr and only playing 25-30 gms and what he is injured before the most important time of the yr. Doesn't look like a work horse to me.

Like I pointed out earlier you sir are handicapped. He only played 25-30 games cause it's a SHORTENED SEASON and he was sharing the net with luongo at the start of the season. If your blaming him for being injured then why not throw tanev under the bus too.

AV "if we plan on continuing, we're going to have to get some goals from others."

If we plan on continuing- that shows absolutely everything that is wrong with this coach.

i agree. why not expect to win with only 2 goals? st louis are up 2-0 in their series, against the defending stanley cup champions, only scoring 2 goals

And who are they playing? The LA kings. A low scoring team that relies on their goalie (kind of like we've become).

San Jose is a much different team that is more likely than not going to score 2 goals a game.

That's why I wanted LA in the first round. We'd probably at least have a split right now.

I have been watching the Canucks since the 93-94 epic season/playoffs and I have not been as frustrated as this year, not even when they couldn't make the playoffs. There were moments this year (including tonight) where I truly feel sorry for a couple of players for belonging to this team, as a handful of them actually deserve to be in a team with more integrity, grit, and desire (I'm looking at Kesler, Hansen, Lapierre, Luongo and also Schneider).

None of the defence made positive impression tonight. Most disappointed with Bieksa, Edler, and Raymond.

I feel like grumpy cat right now! Good thing French Open is starting.

Nice going all in

MG too thrifty to add a bit more than a 3rd rounder to get Torres. I just knew that would come back to haunt us.

lol Gillis and AV.

Bring in Burke

The guy along with with Nonis built this core and now the leafs are enjoying some success because of burke.

Gillis wasted this core's last 2 years by somehow making the 2011 team way worse and putting this team in cap trouble at the same time.

This is funny since MOST of the "core" that couldn't get it done over the past 3-4 years are the guys that were brought in by Burke and Nonis.

The grievous error in judgement made by Gillis was his belief that the Sedins, Edler, Burrows, and Luongo had what it took to win the Cup, and putting them with a coach who thought that the core was good/accountable enough to run the room, with minimal interference. It's obvious that this group are a bunch of pretenders. It's time to rid the team of these four guys and bring in new pieces to the remaining core group...obviously, easier said than done. Gillis hasn't done the team any favors by painting it into a corner with what has turned out to be ridiculous contracts for Luongo, Burrows and Edler.

It's time for MG to walk the talk...make the BOLD moves you spoke of when you took over four years ago, MG. Tired of MG's lip service and the verbal diahrea that flows from AV to all the players, talking about "the process" and "playing the right way". So much for all the bravado that came from AV, Henrik and Daniel about the time being now...what a pile of BS...thanks for showing up for the past 18 months. The physical and mental flyweights on the Canucks roster have to go, and it starts with the Sedins and Burrows. They need to be replaced by legitimate middle and heavyweights who can play the game. It's also time for AV to hit the bricks.

Until tonight, I defended this group, but I have to say, they can't deliver when it matters most...as good a people as they are, their time as Canucks hockey players has run its course and we should get something of value for them while we can. If the Luongo situation has taught us anything, you have to make a move before it hurts the short and long term prospects for the team. It's time.

again, nobody knows what this word means. all of us fans are frustrated, and for good reason. this team choked away a game 2 win. it's that simple. all of this, lies on vigs. this team completely let up in the final minutes of the game to protect the lead, and what happened? the sharks kept pressing, they knew the canucks were protecting the lead, therefore, they knew the canucks would not fight back. we were doing SO WELL. this this team played aggressive, they kept pressing; something we haven't seen in a long time, then all of a sudden, with 6-7 minutes left in the game, just chipping the puck out of the zone. no forecheck at all. just sitting on the lead. same old song with alain vigneault

Same core, same coach, same system, same strategy = different outcome?

Why the Sedins were out there on the tying goal is beyond me. When you are trying to protect a lead with a minute left, you have your best checkers out there. The ones that usually kill penalties. The Sedins do not kill penalties. So here we are, up by one in a must win game and who do you have out there? Your worst defensive pair all night, and your slowest forwards. WTF? AV needs to be canned just for this. Even Gary Valk mentioned this on sportsnet. You put out your checking line, the ones that know how to block shots and clear the front of the net. The Sedins were lost out there, going down early to try and block shots that weren't even attempted.

As for Edler. Sure he provides some offense but his defensive play has been dismal now for over a year. I'm usually not one to suggest drastic moves but if the Canucks can get something decent for him this off-season they should seriously consider it.

For those that suggest that its only 2 games and that we can still come back, think back to what happened last year.

But then there is a huge hole in the back end which you're going to see affect this team in a huge negative way. So unless they go out and sign someone of similar stature to replace him..

Canucks defence are just not good enough to win (poor puck management and very poor defensive coverage). It's the plays and smart breakouts they have to make in our own end that kickstarts the offence. Those plays aren't there, it is like watching a really sketchy game of badminton where the Canuck defence flips the puck as high as they can over the redline and hope it somehow eludes the opposition. Puck possession is completely out the window, and man does our offence suffer for it.

AV, please go.

And MG better have a plan for this offseason, because if he doesn't we're going to become worse than the Flames.

MG has not made one dominant trade since he has got here. The most exciting player he has acquired is Sundin lol and now roy but even he hasn't showed up as of now. If AV is getting fired then gillis needs to hold his hand on the way out because this mess is due to both of those people.

Really? Cause we got outplayed most of the night and Luongo had to make alot more tough saves.

But some fans can just look at the final score I guess.

I still don't know how the Sedins can make more money than Luongo, and yet get none of the flack in their no show games. If every player on the team was judged evenly, Luongo would be way down the list of players that had a hand in this loss.

A lot more tough saves? Than Niemi? Canucks had three 2-on-1s in the second period alone!

Go to bed.

When there was 1 minute left I was prettyy confident it would happen. Shades of game 7 vs Chicago in 2011 and Gold Medal Game in 2010 and countless others....Edler? Sedin, looking soooo weak out there!

Can't see a cup happening on the next 40 years.....

just vintage luongo softie at the worst time. he played great also had some puck luck couple of posts but what does it matter when you let in a crap goal at the worst time..... and i dont care what anyone says about our record with and without bieksa in our line up hes been playing terrible him and edler just gong shows, at this point if tanev came back it would be replacing one of them... bieska looked like a peewee player on that 2 on 1 didnt force a shot didnt take away burns' ice didnt block the pass across just awful... maybe this loss was just karma brought on by burrows nut shot and keslers yapping

Well, neither team will get out of the second round barely scoring two goals a game.

can't argue with that, but what ever's working for them, i don't see why not. can't really predict playoff hockey, but with canucks games lately, you can sit at home and just see plays happening in your head. every time edler makes a drop pass on the PP i want to choke something. he did in this game, in our zone, with a shark hovering, could have easily picked it up and went on a break. this team is way too predictable in the way they play. ryan kesler carried this game but quality coaching cost us the game

Such a shame we'll be trading one our few players that has played well in these playoffs...

Relying on Lu way too much.

Kesler is the only Canuck to score this series. How sad.

The Sedins are being too cute with the puck at the wrong times. They did manage to assist on our PP goal.

Reffing awful again. 1 PP all game? So many non calls. Playoff hockey is a joke. Yet everyone just accept that the refs put their whistles away, or better yet, do whatever they please. Pathetic.

Rebuild time as far as im concerned if were ousted here in the 1st round. Only so much a fan can watch as this core continues to fail. Same old problems with this team, outside of Kesler who was in beast mode we have no offense.
