ITT: many canucks fans deluding themselves into the idea that we are a few pieces away from being a cup contender and the rest of the fans living in reality trying to talk some send into them. Anyone who thinks this team is anywhere close to significantly participating in the playoffs is positively bonkers and has obviously NOT watched this team closely for the past few seasons. This team is now showing what happens when our first line can't get it done consistently.. We have NOBODY ELSE.. I do not consider the likes of Sestito, Dalpe and Booth to be saviors when your star players are MIA, which they have been for a long time now when the going gets tough. Face it people. This core needs a huge shift but MG has made it so that this is not possible really.

This will be this way forever when things aren't going well forthe Canucks.. Fans of this team simply cannot take that the team is not the same and are deteriorating so they claw and scrape at any other excuse that will help them sleep at night.. Its pretty sad actually to watch and read people delude themselves so badly for so long.. Common statements you read on CDC: - they will be much better off once ____ is back in the lineup - this team is going nowhere until we fire ____ - once our team is fully healthy (Lol what team is ever fully healthy) we will be elite again - once _____ can find some chemistry on the ____ line with (this player), it can help break ____ out of this slump - the goaltending "controversy" was a huge distraction to the team - making Luongo as the captain was a huge distraction to the team - the officials are the reason we lost vs ____ Although all of these can be factors to the Canucks struggles, they are WAY overused as copouts for the much larger problems this team faces.. I think fans who are knowledgeable enough about hockey can see that its more than any one issue and that it is not an easy fix.. But most importantly I think people who live in reality can see this team is on a downward slide.. That's not being a hater, that's not being unnecessarily critical.. It is being realistic.. And yet there are these people here who simply cannot deal with this reality.. To these people: I realize you love this team, but ffs try to be objective once in a while and hold the team accountable.. If you can praise them for the good things, you have to hold the team accountable when they are not competing to their level.. That does not make you a hater, regardless of what other mouth-breathing fans may say.

I love it when some people call others "haters" when they make valid and realistic comments/observations about the team but are tough to stomach.. So instead, let's throw the "hater" quip at these people so that its easier to get to bed at night. Wake up people. This team may make the playoffs this year and following years but they are descending into mediocrity I under MG's watch and if you can't see this and call it what it is then best bury your head deeper and get off the forums where you wish to call others haters for not drinking Canucks brand koolaid. I think all of us want to see this team do well.. Its just that some of us don't need a warm blanket to make us feel better after a loss or when its clear that the team as an organization is deteriorating. Its actually hard for me as a fan to see people who still try so hard to defend their degredation and call other people haters for not thinking everything is OK.. Get a friggin clue.

This was a riot of a game to get to go to.. was electric with that fight breaking out 2 seconds into the game.. every single person in that stadium was up on their feet. Epic. So glad we got the win after all that.. sure, it was only against the lowly flamers, but when has there ever been a win vs Calgary that was not great? Answer: Never.. I frigging LOVE beating the Flames. It just simply never EVER gets old.

I'm going to this game and really am hoping that this squad can show up and play a good game and get some confidenc eafter ssuch a dreadful road trip.. I hope they come out pissed off and take out their frustrations on Calgary.. Make it happen boys! 43 - 0 for the blue and green

Man it just dawned on me that there were a bunch of Canucks fans probably who went on that Roadtrip with the team.. Lol ouch, I'd be choked with a trip like that.

Can I just take a moment to point this out..? Some people here choose to say stuff like "the gm can't score the goals, the team has to do that." OK, so then the GM should always be striving to make the team better and manage our roster, contracts, help with scouting and general oversight of all things Canucks. Mucb like how our top players and leaders need to "produce" in order to be seen as "earning their salaries". So how then does GM MG do when put against this model? People here like to make excuses for MG and say "its hard to make trades and he's doing the best he can".. Well so are the players on our team are they not? Its hard to score goals in the NHL right? But isn't that what they're paid to do? Produce, is it not? I just don't get the double standard is all.. Some of you have zero problem putting it to our players to figure it out because of all the millions they're paid to do THEIR jobs, so why does MG seemingly get a pass or is allowed to make excuses when it comes to HIS job?

Starting with Gillis.. I've supported him for almost all of his time here but he has not done this team any favors over the last few years.. The NTCs and the standing pat and money ball mentality. Need a shift. Changing the coach was the first step.. gm is the next.

This BS league and its constant incorrect calls is making it impossible for me to not believe there is a conspiracy against this team.. These last couple games just further add to this belief. I don't want to believe it but there is just so much bloody evidence.

I feel bad for Torts having to watch this team flounder like this.. I can barely find the energy sitting through these games lately.. Between the officiating in this league and this teams brutal offense im finding it painful..

Man its hard to find the energy to watch this team right now. I dunno how Torts is doing it.. Just abysmal. I'm really desperately hoping that they can pick it up for Saturdays game vs Calgary since I'm taking my fam to the game (Christmas gift)

Disappointed we lost but enjoyed watching Kessler pummle Brown. That in itself is a win to me Tired of watching our offense wilt like a dying flower.. Sedins are looking like a really big disappointment.. Can't say I'm surprised though. A game like this also is a great indicator of just how poor NHL officiating is.. These guys had little control over this game and it shows how inexperienced they are. I keep wondering whether the Nhl ever plans to do anything about it.. Feels like I will keep on needing to wonder.

This is what playing 20 minutes a game looks like.. I've never seen the Canucks of any season let in more goals within the last minutes of periods than this roster.. Pretty ridiculous Torts needs to bag skate this team.. All you need to look at are the turnovers and careless play from the Sedins, Bieksa etc. Brutal. I hope this team feels like crap after this game and last nights game.

I for one expect the Canucks to give up a two goal lead when they come out sleeping for an entire period barely mustering a shot What I can't tolerate are officials who contrive calls and ignore others to make that tie more inevitable.. Picking and choosing when to call a goaltender interference penalty for starters.. If you wanna be one of those bury your head in the sans types about the officiating in this league be my guest... But don't expect anyone here think you intelligent when you seem plenty happy to pacify the situation like so many other sheep fans. "Well it happens to other teams too so oh well I guess"
