  1. Apparently translink has the new bus tracker app... I can't find it on the app store.
  2. Your username sounds like some sort of medical procedure.
  3. Was the property tax increase $ 23 dollars per year? As for the gas tax.. If you have a 50 liter tank .. It will cost you an extra $1 per fill. I for one am a huge proponent of building snd expanding transit. It's money well spent IMO.
  4. Washrooms at skytrain stations would be a disaster. Washrooms are bad enough at some fast food chains in some places of the city.
  5. I despise hot wearher. And love loooooove the cool weather.
  6. Coming down in cloverdale now. Gotta drive back to van tonight.
  7. I'm staying in nanaimo right now, and there was a nice dump of snow over night here. Really heavy , wet snow.
  8. He said " still no snow" which is not correct. Vancouver had 2 significant snowfalls in the span of a couple days. I guess you're new to vancouver, because A- snow rarely stays around long in vancouver and B- snow of that amount almost never occurs in November in Vancouver. Especially a Month before winter actually begins. Not to mention the record breaking cold temperatures during that week.
  9. Only rain off and on in south west van.
  10. Lol. I went there in august a couple years ago. 44 wren we landed. But boy was it fun:).
  11. Southern Ontario is far more humid than Vancouver. It's death there in the summer. And yes kelowna is dryer than Vancouver. You want really dry? Go to las Vegas lol. 43 off the plane but it was manageable.
  12. The thing about Vancouver and generally coastal cities, is that the humidity is far higher in Vancouver. Then say, kelowna. I lived in kelowna for 15 years, yes it gets really hot there in the summer ( I remember one summer it said 44 degrees on our outdoor themometer. My point is that 30 degrees in Vancouver with humidity will feel like 33 , 34. A 30 degree day in Vancouver is far more uncomfortable then a 30 degree day in kelowna.
  13. Or the smart thing to do would be to make the lights reverse. Amber for DONT PULL YOUR CARD OUT YT.. AND GREEN FOR GO>> PULL YOU CARD OUT! I went on the Canada line last week and it took me 2 tries... but the thing that confused me was that when i put my card in, the light went amber... Why would the company put in an amber light... green for go...is pretty universal!
  14. The olympics will be a gong show all over town. I'm not concerned about Canada line. Look at broadway/commercial drive half of the day. It's packed, you have to wait for trains. It's a train transit system, which people are using. If anything this will get translink to put more trains on the track, widen stations and build more lines.
  15. Yeah. IT was quite a huge announcement about 2 years ago if i'm correct? I remember listening to the press conference by Gordo Live at work on the radio and was pumped to hear the plan for skytrain extension. And if you want more proof I opened the PDF on translinks website. http://www.translink.ca/~/media/Documents/...%20Summary.ashx Figure A 3
  16. Actually Translink back in 1999, was planning to build skytrain in the broadway corridor after the millenium line was complete extending from VCC to UBC. The funds were not there, so they haulted it, then the Canada line opportunity came up, and with the olympics awarded to the CITY.. Canada line was approved and built. The provincial governments transit plan calls for rapid transit to be built along the broadway corridor by 2020. "The provincial government’s 2008 transit plan calls for a new $3-billion rapid transit system to UBC along the Broadway corridor to be built by 2020." http://www.vancouversun.com/West+Broadway+...3375/story.html It only makes sense for this line to be built along one of the busiest and fastest growing areas of the city.
