This assumes you play Garrison on the right side? He prefers, and plays better even though he's good both ways, the left side.

I'd personally like to see

Hamhuis/Bieksa

Edler/Tanev

Garrison/Corrado

If Tanev plays with Edler as a defensive position player it helps Edler a lot. Tanev has speed to close on pucks, stop odd man rushes etc. if Edler makes a mistake. He gets to pucks quickly in our end and gets them out; often getting a jump start to a forward in transition where Edler can jump up. Tanev may not be a scorer himself, but is a great complimentary partner. This line up uses guys where their skills and pairings are most suited.

Rather than underplay Garrison on the 3rd pairing, he can pick up PP shifts with Edler and PK shifts with Hammer. Hammer gets most ice time, followed by Edler and Garrison, next tier Bieksa, then Tanev and Corrado. Again, everyone to their strengths.

A solid quiet dman but way overrated by CDC.

If a cheaper BIGGER alternative is available i wont lose any sleep over losing Tanev
