Yeah, the Benning era was missing that unified vision right off the bat and now we're left with a bunch of used bandaids in the tub.

I think it’s the same or even less. Remember Quinn was EVERYWHERE on the ice last season. I think there’s a real Tanev sized hole to make up for when things don’t work. And we really don’t have the D zone bulldog like Stecher anymore. We lost a lot of what was already a weak D group.

Brutal numbers. With such widespread issues plaguing this team so far this year, I think the faceoffs are just another in a long list of things that are going wrong because of "reasons we don't know". There is something seriously wrong somewhere.

I believe there’s one more year on his contract. I also believe Aquillini will not be spending a penny on firing Benning while the team is hemmoraging money during a pandemic.

I don’t know. I see two main problems. 1. Our top players haven’t been our top players consistently enough (fixable). 2. Our D personnel is razor thin (nearly unfixable for now due to cap) So, if our top guys return to form and that includes Demko stealing a lot of wins, we might be as good as last year at best. Otherwise we might just waiting for certain contracts to expire.

As they should be. But purely on a matchups basis, Toronto is a more favourable opponent for us than Montreal. If our top guys were on top of their game right now, we’d have the potential to give their D all sorts of nightmares.

The Montreal losses I understand with the depth they have at every position. But Toronto is full of holes. They’re obviously highly skilled but flawed and beatable.

Agree. He’s slipped in that he’s still trying to get accustomed to Green’s system in multiple pressers and I think he’s not finding his way as fast as he’d like. But he’ll get there.

I can’t see how we fix our D personnel until we’re out of a few bad contracts. But this group isn’t pretty, folks.
