Been trying to break in this "InstaPot" pressure cooker I got during boxing week.

Thus far, it turned a chuck into a large puck that was dry as f***.

Produced a chili that was lacking depth and character.

A very average mexican pork shoulder

Oh, and meatballs that &^@#ing fell apart.

    I hate it.

I've always taken my sweet ass time to create amazing tasting dishes and had heard these things give you that "loved all day" feel without having to love it all day. I'm not defeated yet, I'll tweak the timing and recipies on those dishes and see, but as of right now. I &^@#ing hate that thing and wouldn't recommend one to anybody who loves cooking, or eating.

It took some adjusting for me too.   I pretty much have it figured out now though.  The pulled pork I make in it is awesome and I think it's done in 90 min.

I'm a potato freak so I use mine a lot because the it cooks them so fast.

Thanks man.  I get why it can be frustrating to learn it, it's because your fingers aren't trained to move like that yet.  If you stretch your fingers and wrists before you play it helps big time.  Any professional athlete likely will spend a couple of hours stretching beforehand and playing an instrument is no different.  After that play every note of the neck on every string(yes it's tedious and boring) to build up that muscle memory.  That's 75% of playing guitar, the other 25% is 'musical memory' which is chords and scales.  Also weed helps, comparable to an athlete taking steriodsB)

That's sounds like some good advice.  Makes me want to pick it back up and maybe stick with it this time.  The whole muscle memory thing makes a lot of sense.  I've played drums for years so it's probably a lot like learning all the rudiments, 26 when I started back in the day now these new guys added a ton more hybrid rudiments.  I thought I'd pick up the guitar fairly easily... Boy was I wrong!

Unfortunately I can't utilize the benefits of weed because my employer tests us for it.  Sucks big time.

    Thanks for the tips, man!

I recorded myself doing Street Spirit by Radiohead on Friday.  The guitar sounds exact but my voice was terrible.  Sucks, actually really disheartening, I know I am told old to be a musician but I worked hard last summer on my vocals without really having a way to record myself so when I heard myself sing in tune for the first time I was devastated.  I was getting ready for karaoke but after that it was no surprised I chickened out lol.  Oh well, back to mindless shredding on the six string haha.

At least you can play the guitar, man.  I've picked it up and stopped so many times from frustration.  It's something I've always wanted to do but for some reason I always want to bash it against something (Animal House style).  Hurts my damn fingers too!

Mad respect for anyone who is able to stick it out and make it look easy.  It's a very hard instrument to learn.

Tonight I'm making what I like to call "the gnar burger". It's just like a burger, only gnarly.

The only big difference is adding bacon bits and stale cool ranch doritos to the beef.

    2lb Ground beef

Bout 3/4 cup crushed up doritos

8 strips crispy double smoked bacon crushed up with the doritos

    Few shakes of worchestershire

Knead all that together for a couple of minutes then make into 6 patties.

    BBQ

    Flip

    Add cheese

    Cover

    Pretzl buns.

Top em how you want em, I don't judge.

I cooked this on the grill tonight.  Awesome, man!!  Sooo good!!  I left the burgers on a touch too long because I got sidetracked smoking my cigar.

But they were amazing nonetheless.   Wife approved.   Thanks for sharing.

That sounds awesome.  I usually add bread crumbs and what's-this-here sauce.  (My buddy could never pronounce it correctly so that's what I called it when he was around)  Next time I will replace the bread crumbs with Doritos.

"The Bellator 180 pay-per-view offering, “Bellator NYC,” will set you back $49.95 for the high-definition version of the company’s second pay-per-view event on June 24 at Madison Square Garden in New York City."

Anyone in here going to be shelling out the money for the Bellator NYC card?

Normally I'm not a huge fan of the old UFC vets fighting these days but since the feud between Wandy and Chael goes way back I'll admit I'm a bit intrigued.

I like watching Chandler fight as well and I'm not fan of Lorenz Larkin so to maybe see him get beat would be nice.  I'm not willing to pay $50 USD for these fights though so I'll ether hit the cigar bar or just check out the highlights.

The free UFC card Sunday has some good fights lined up so I'll definitely be watching that.

    Mousasi vs Romero/Whitaker.

Winner demolishes Bisping for the title.

It might be a title fight with GSP if they can figure out the new Anti-Doping policy standards.  I would love to see GSP destroy Bisping.  If not, I'd be more than happy to see Moose, Romero or Whitaker do it.  Whitaker looked really good against Jacare.  That guy has some sick striking.

As you can see by my real time posts, I gave the second round to Wonderboy.

I think that MMA judges are starting to score championship fights like they score championship boxing.  Unless the challenger is clearly superior, they are reluctant to take a title away.  Look at Sal D'Amato's scorecard.  He clearly  scribbled a 9 into an 8 when he saw that he had Wonderboy winning the fight.  He purposely turned his card into a draw.

I'm not upset with the decision because I personally think it really was a toss-up.  They were dancing way more than they were fighting.

I saw that, man.  I almost posted a pic of the card with my post from earlier.

I agree.  The judges are reluctant to give the challenger a win without a total domination.  It's dumb, imo.  That whole to beat the champ you have to BEAT  the champ mentality I think screwed over a few fighters from getting a title.  Like Johny Hendrix..   GSP stole that one.

Yeah, it was a close fight and I may be a tad biased because I can't stand Woodley.

It was interesting because during the second round, I think it was Annik that broke down the scoring criteria and mentioned that since nothing had really happened, the scoring should be in favor of Thompson since he was controlling position. Woodley had 30 seconds of action in 25 minutes and that won him the fight.

I'm not surprised.  Anik is usually pretty good.  I still miss Goldie though.  It's just not the same without "the voice of the Octagon"

I'll be scratching my head over that decision for a while.  Like you said, 30 seconds out of 25 min wins the fight...?

Dana White had it the same as you.

I don't see how two of the judges gave Woodley the 2nd round.  Not a lot happened and strikes were dead even but Woodley was up against the cage most of the time or getting stalked.  You'd think that would at least give Thompson points for "Octagon control" which is one of the scoring criteria.  I still think the judges give way to many points for a takedown.  Especially if the guy gets right back up and no damage is done.  If that's the case, then points should be given for defended takedowns too but you don't really hear much about that.

GSP was my favorite fighter to watch in the UFC, but now he is just an exercise professional. He works out, gets sponsors, posts some videos, and then does some interviews saying he's coming back to the UFC wearing the clothes of his sponsors. Its just an act to keep the $ rolling in. This talk has been going on for 2-3 years. Can hate some of the things Dana White says, but he's right about GSP.

Gegard Mousasi is one of my new favorites. He also called out fans for being 'stupid' for liking fighters because of what expensive stuff they post on instagram.

I saw that!  His post fight press conference talk was great.  I was kinda diggin' the angrier side of Moose.

Hope Hendo KO's Bisping again...unlucky, but would be a great way to end an amazing career.

Agreed.  I thought Bisping would have learned his lesson last time but he's still running his mouth as always.  Hard to believe this card is PPV though.  I won't be buying it.  I may head up to the cigar lounge and check it out though.  No cover charge and all you have to do is buy a cigar to grab a seat and watch it.

That big head is just a target now.

man that Swedish girl got her face ruined.

Yeah, she did.  A shame because she's pretty cute.  She hung in there with Cyborg longer than I thought she would though.

I wonder if there is enough women out there that would create a 145 pound division.  I think the UFC needs to look into that.

    Damn, Canada's very own.

Wish him the best. If it means going overseas to get a better living, so be it. I'm sure he'll be back in the UFC sometime down the road but it makes sense financially for why he's making the move.

The UFC didn't want to match the offer from Bellator.  Bad move, IMO.   I hope his first fight is against that jackass Michael Page.  Never liked that arrogant dude and I bet Rory destroys him.  Get a title shot after that and he'd probably be the new champ.

ALL Fighters put their life in danger stepping into the Octagon. - Cyborg Santos' face is proof of that.

You have to be able to have faith in the UFC and and the USADA to do their jobs - clearly they aren't and they don't give a $&!# about the fighters at all, if they did - paydays would reflect that, and alot more drastic measures would be in place to catch fighters that are cheating.

You didn't know anything, neither did I, and neither did Mark Hunt - We all sure as hell could have guessed, but again, you are supposed to be able to rely on the company you're fighting for to help keep you safe - especially if they are the worlds largest promotion, and you're supposed to be able to rely on the USADA to keep things on an even playing field, but again, clearly they don't care

There are no penalties for these cheaters, and currently no course of action for fighters to take, Brock wasn't punished in any way shape or form and Mark Hunt gets to deal with injuries from fighting up some roided up POS for the third time because the UFC and the USADA wouldn't protect him? I'd be furious too.

Are you serious?  I guess we don't KNOW that Jay Cutler, Dorian Yates, Ronnie Coleman Phil Heath etc aren't taking roids because USADA hasn't tested them.  I knew it and so did everyone else.

I agree with the other part.  There's no real punishment for these cheaters other than getting a suspension.  Obviously that won't affect Brock.
