  1. I think your counting might be a wee bit off
  2. petan was 165 pounds too and put up 120 points in his draft year in the WHL and fell all the way to 43
  3. For me top end speed isn't as important as acceleration and agility unless you are going end to end or you are going in on breakaways, at the nhl level there is not alot of room out there. I think nylander brings pretty much everything ehlers does plus more as he has a higher skill set, better playmaker, physically superior, can play center, and skating is almost just as good. It has to be between nylander and Ritchie depending on what direction the club wants to go!

  5. Ehlers is more suited for the east, in a 7 game series in our division a player like nick Ritchie in my opinion is more valuable
  6. I don't think ehlers and Ritchie's shots are on par I think Ritchie has a much heavier shot as well as a little better release as sometimes is looks like the puck is evaporating off his stick. Ya ehlers is definitely alot fast that Ritchie but ehlers will probably need 15-20 more pounds to play in the nhl and if Ritchie steps up his conditioning which is almost a given when going pro he will likely be playing just under 220 and should lessen the gap in speed.
  7. Ritchie has the best shot of the three and his skills are very underrated as he can make perfect saucer passes and stick handle in tight, and he will win a hell of a lot more nhl puck battles than nylander or ehlers. He can get to the front of the net and score the dirty goals as well as screen goalies and has a game 7 overtime goal under his belt on a really shitty team. I do think nylander has a really high offensive ceiling and could be a number 1 center some day so I would probably take him slightly over Ritchie.
  8. Why would it just be between these two, I think it's probably between Ritchie and nylander!
  9. I would do calgarys 2015 1st in a heartbeat
  10. I know its just the combine and not too much should be put into it but Nylanders wingate test for peak power output is very impressive. He blew the scores from the previous best players in that category out of the water! 2014: Nylander - 17.5 2013: Samuel morin and shea Theodore - 15.8 2012: Alex Galchenyuk - 15.6 2011: Ty rattie - 15.9 2010: John McFarland - 16.2 2009: Jordan szwarz - 15.6 Not sure exactly what the test measures other than it has to do with lactic acid and I think plays a big part in explosiveness. But if Nylander has that elite skill and special physical tools he seems like a great pick even over a guy like Ritchie.
  11. page 200, nylander or Ritchie please based on which direction the team wants to go, with our division im thinkin Ritchie.
  12. Ya Ritchie is gone at 8 by Toronto for sure!!! Cant see him making it to 9.
  13. I wouldn't mind adding a nice defensemen prospect with this pick maybe if a guy like roland mckeown drops to #36
  14. A lot of the players are not playing hockey anymore until draft so the rankings shouldn't be effected a whole lot by how recent it is updated until after the combine. Central scouting is done by the actual NHL so they should know what their talking about, I feel like ISS is good at scouting international players instead of just focusing on the CHL, and Bob Mckenzie has so many connections and resources working at TSN plus he talks to 12 NHL scouts and takes a consensus. Also hes not a goof like craig button!
  15. I wouldn't put too much thought into some of those mock drafts online as they are pretty unreliable and a lot of them are all over the place the only ones I really trust are central scouting, ISS, and the one I trust the most is Bob Mckenzie. They have: Ritchie: 7, 9, 6 Ehlers: 13, 11, 7 Virtanen: 6, 10, 8 Nylander: 2nd euro, 5, 12
  16. Ya lets take Tuch over Ritchie.......said nobody smart ever.
  17. Really hope the canucks pull the trigger on this guy, if he continues to develop like his brother has after being drafted, he could be a game changer. Rare breed of skill, size, and quick feet.
  18. As far as im concerned either way we end up with a really good prospect, one of ehlers, nylander, Virtanen, and Ritchie. My preference is probably Ritchie but they all bring different strengths to the table: Ehlers is a fast and elusive offensive weapon especially on the powerplay, he plays an exciting style and has done extremely well in his first season of north American hockey. He plays with droiun which can be considered a negative but it can also be a positive as he is bound to learn a thing or too from playing with an elite player. Nylander has been highly touted for a while and had a monster U18 tournament. He is extremely skilled with great skating and a high potential as a first liners. He plays with Modo in a league with grown men, on a team that either naslund and or Forsberg are a part of not too sure. Sedins would be very good mentors for him as well. Virtanen is fast and strong and has a very good powerful shot both forehand and backhand. He is very strong on his skates and is able to move forward and backwards very quickly. He is one of the youngest players in the draft, and is a hometown kid with could help motivate him even more and may lead to better contracts down the road. Ritchie is a bullish player that can lay punishing hits and has a NHL caliber shot as it has a very quick release and very heavy. He is very good at protecting the puck and taking it to the dirty areas. He uses his big frame to provide screens and has a good set of hands to score deflections, put it away in tight, and can make nice passes. He showed great leadership in the seven game playoff series and scored the game seven OT winner.
  19. That is a terrible scoring of the players attributes! Ritchie with the worst shot and same shot strength of ehlers haha just ridiculous.
  20. Ritchie actually has a really high hockey IQ not sure about Virtanen though haven't seem a lot of him. Ehlers looks like a very interesting propect that could have great upside what scares me about him is that to be effective in the nhl he while have to throw on a good twenty pounds or so and that could have a big effect on his speed which is the component that makes him so electrifying. The other thing is the Droiun factor as playing with the best player in the chl on the powerplay where he has a significant amount of goals and points is inflating his stats and is getting a lot of cross crease feeds to shoot on the open net. Even if they don't play on the same line sometimes you would thing the opposing teams shutdown players are focusing on droiun.
  21. my top 15 rankings: 1. Ekblad 2. Rienhart 3. Bennett 4. Draistl 5. Dal Colle 6. Ritchie 7. Ehlers 8. Nylander 9. Virtanen 10. Fleury 11. Perlini 12. Kapanen 13. Tuch 14. McCann 15. Vrana
  22. Ritchie bring a lot to his game than just skill, personally I believe to be a superstar in NHL you need to play a complete game and there are a couple exceptions like P kane whos skills are just off the chart. Ritchie has really worked on his two way game this year from what ive heard and a lot of the time if you are running around hitting people you will find yourself out of position, so you have to choose your spots. The injury concerns are there but he did stay healthy for the year and looks to have put them behind him. Condition for him will be key I think. I think he has the potential to get much stronger and leaner making his skating a lot better and helping prevent injuries in the future.
  23. I strongly disagree with your assessment of Ritchie, BanTsn. From the games ive seen he doesn't shy away from the physical stuff as much as you are making out ad does drop the gloves when he is required but he is relied on heavily on that team to produce offense and is much more valuable to his team not dropping the gloves every game compared to lucic in junior. His speed is average but for his size is actually pretty good, his acceleration really impresses me though and for a big guy if he can use it to get a step on you he is too good at shielding the puck to stop him. His shot is pro level. Nothing like taylor pyatt and way higher upside than kassian.
  24. Would rather have Ritchie than Virtanen he is more rounded. Here is an article from sportsnet talking about how Ritchie could be the first overall pick from the start of the season: www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/juniors/scout-petes-ritchie-is-no-1-ranked-prospect/
  25. Ritchie is clearly the BPA at 6 as long as none of the top 5 drop and would easily be the most effective in a 7 game playoff series against a California team. Went toe to toe with Sam Bennett in game seven overtime and won. Let ehlers and nylander go to the east where they will flourish. Once Ritchie goes pro and improves his conditioning and adds some more lean muscle he will be dominating in the nhl pretty quick, his shot is already there and is exactly the type of player the sedins need to play with as I read he frees up tons of space for his teammates as he is one of the most difficult players to contain.
