if Willie sits him or Plays him under 12 minutes I'm going to be pissed.

I think he's got the memo though from Linden and Benning.   this is the kid of the future.

He is the future but there's gonna be a lot less time and space in the show and he could use a bit work on his agility. Regardless put this kid on the pp in his natural spot. Right shot point and throw stecher in tanevs place

Nope, Leafs fans are not allowed to jab at anyone else until their team proves that they are legit. And he's not even smart, if he had a hint of knowledge about those two he wouldn't be saying those things.

Edmonton fans ain't allowed to chime in either. We've pounded both of those franchises to a pulp for the better part of 2 decades. Both fan bases can pipe down

    "Worst Canucks draft ever."

Dave Pratt is such a clown. Him and that other doorknob just ruined the morning show. Thank the lord for mike & mike

    Virtanen - lololololololol

    McCann- meh

    Tryamkin- Pretty good

Demko - Got lucky with him but awesome

Forsling- Surprised.. WHy the fk did we trade him.

    Overall aight.

Typical hater comment. That draft will produce more nhlers for the Canucks then any in the last 20 years. 5 nhlers in one draft is incredible and 4 have already played in the show so soon.

    Wake up

    What's your guys' point?

I met Jamie Benn in Campbell River in 2012 and he was wasted drunk.  Two years later he played for Team Canada at the Olympics and was arguably their best forward playing for one of the most dominant Canadian teams of all time

    It's alcohol, not heroin.

It started with why jake came to camp out of shape and maybe because he partied to much in the summer and the convo just carried onto one party

I wasn't there at that golf tournament but had a buddy who was.  Heard some stories about Jake and the "fun" he had.  I also heard some interesting stories about other NHLers there too.

Yeah there was definitely some fun had by lots lol. A lot of booze and a lot of babes for sure, and I don't think the babes were wives/gf's.......

I like the kid.  He seems like a good guy, but I really hope he figures out how to be a pro, especially when he's not being supervised.

He's a cocky little sh*t lol, he's just trained how to talk/act infront of the camera. He'll figure it out. The ahl stint is prolly a huge wake up call for him. Kids got all the tools just needs to get his head on straight and he'll be a force for us

They made a mistake when they proclaimed Jake and Jared had made the team. Both should have gone back before the 40 game mark and preserved their elc, but they made a spectacle out of them making the team and backed themselves into a corner. Jake is a 1/2 year behind. He's not someone who needs to rely on other players to make him better, so he has a leg up on the rest of the Canucks' prospects near him.

Every time Benning is asked about the direction of the team he says we wanna get faster and more physical. Who else would he have taken in the draft? It was a no-brainer from his point of view and I have to say I would have done the same thing. Jake has another year to prove himself in the minors if he doesn't make the Canucks next season.

The Canucks just haven't sucked enough in the past 10 years to have been forced to play green rookies. The Detroit model worked for 25 years and it should be the model for development. Just because we picked 6th, doesn't mean we were a bottom dweller and needed to put that player into the lineup the way that other teams are forced to.

Jake needed a pee-pee slap, an attitude adjustment and a lesson in humility. He has received all of those and will be a better hockey player for it. If the Comets make the playoffs, there's a great opportunity for the prospects to get even better, and the Canucks get a better draft pick.

I fail to see the problem with jake spending his 1st year of AHL eligibility in the AHL.

Absolutely 1 million percent right. So right it's wrong lol. This is the first time he's ever "failed" in his life (hockeywise). Let's not forget the kids age. He's a little immature....so sue him, he's only a kid. He'll fig it out

  10. The dynamic of the west and pacific in particular has changed. We shouldn't be afraid to go after the smaller more skilled centres. I would take Patrick #1 don't get me wrong but the day of needing centres to go against getzlaf kopitar hanzel kesler etc etc are done. By the time our team is ready to compete those guys are going to basically irrelevant. Draistle and strome are really the only big centremen threats in the division we're gonna have to worry about size with skill wise

Jake was playing well at the end of last season too.  Maybe he's gotten into the bad habit of playing himself into shape?

He came into camp out of shape plain and simple. Who knows why?! The kid probably parties too much. I was in a golf tournament in whistler which he and a bunch of other nucks/nhlers were in and he was probably the biggest party animal of the bunch. I never seen him on the course so maybe I shouldn't run my mouth but he was definitely the talk of the after party

You know what... I was talking the the game before against the Sens. Not the Demko shutout. Sorry.

The game before that he left the ice in the 2nd period and didn't return. Game before that he was the best player on the ice also. He's stepping his game up lately. This is a Virtanen hate thread I know but the kids playing super well last couple weeks

  13. Too bad Utica wasn't in a playoff hunt. It'd be awesome to see some of the new talent there.....boeser gaudette dhalin goldobin gaunce saying alright potential new core.....let's see what you got, go make a run

  14. Didn't watch his last game vs binginton but the night before vs the penguins he looked great. Super noticeable. Had a few good chance (1 great) a few good hits even 2 of his patented run over the guy who try's to hit him. Couple good back checks. Really engaged in the offensive zone not the lost look he had before.

Kids really snake bitten you can you can see it. He fanned on the puck right infront of the net prime chance 2 shots blocked in close. He's definitely working hard in the last few games I've seen.

Be nice if he had a bit more skill to play with.....playing with cassels must be hard. Guys a pure grinder always a step behind in the offensive zone (mind you I've only watched a handful of games but from what I've seen he's garbage, cassels that is)
