Yes it depends on how they will develop him. Canucks rookies usually always start off in a 3rd/4th line role, and then we wonder why they never develop their offensive game. We need scoring and playmaking threats, not more checkers. Virtanen at 6th overall projects to be a scorer. A lot of rebuilding clubs have no choice but to force these youngsters into scoring roles. A good example is Colorado, with Duchesne, MacKinnon all being put into roles where they can utilize their offence. On the Canucks we should be using the 2nd line to generate offence, let the 3rd line worry about D.

Virtanen has a wicked release on his wrist shot, and he can power through down the wing. I find his junior days very comparable to how Iginla played. Booth does not have a very good shot, he is physical though but I didnt see him bowling players over with regularity like Virtanen. As a 6th overall pick, I really think he can become close to an Iginla type player. He has a quick release (maybe not as good as Iggy's, but still wicked), really mixes it up after the whistle=great compete level. Virtanen's potential is sky high IMO, based on what we have seen thus far. I have not yet seen a Canucks prospect that has his mix of Speed, Skill, and physicality.
