Well one thing for sure...Now next year is going to be excited . Either we will see some new prospect to fill the holes or some trade is coming since we don't even have a full line up as we speak.

I agree , but I don't get why Benning not set our own timeline. Is OEL going to make that much of a differences if we are losing our last years' starting goalie, 1 of our top D and the top 6 F that you traded one of your best prospect for? then again, this is the same GM called Sutter a corner stone player.

not quite sure why Benning has to be this Mr nice guy. I am worry even if Van left to be the only destination, he would still offer up 1st+2nd+prospect just so he is not being viewed as the bad guy trying to take advantage of other team's situation.

All true except no guarantee that OEL would give them any team at all next year. He doesn't need to give them any team as he got full NTC

I agree on this. Boston was hoping to wait till FA opened up and see if Krug would circle back to them and take a discounted deal if they couldn't get him to accept a discounted resign deal.

I don't think the decision is based on which player is a better D. To B, it is chemistry, it is knowing the player and the player knowing the system. You can expect what result would be generated and even possible weakness which they can work their way to prevent by adding other FA or via trade. Taking on a 8.5m unknown for next 7 or 8 years makes it a lot harder to predict result. I would say 50/50 luck and good scouting.
