  1. I just saw all the crying that we needed to get a RHD and a C back for horvat. They did exactly that in two parts. Ending up with

    Horvat plus a second

    for

Beauvillier, Raty, Hronek and a 4th.

All players younger then Horvat and with upside.

Now everyone is freaking that they went out and got what everyone wanted them to go out and get.

Also Chychrun is a LHD and went for more then Hronek

McCabe is a LHD and went for more then Hronek

Really think you all just like to complain.

  2. Seeing comments of "this wasnever an easy fix" but that was why they had the rope they had. People are getting annoyed because they made it worse with not dealing Miller then signing Miller and making the Horvat situation worse. Then also signing forwards while not doing much of anything to fix the defense.

I am in the "out of patience" group myself. Because I know you set goal and work towards those goal by making the hard decisions with those goals in mind. And the "new regime" is just not been doing that thus far.

  3. The issue I see is a lack of foreword thinking from future management. Miller has been a small attitude issue prior to this season. Sign him to money that should go to Bo, increase Miller's ego, add resentment from Bo (towards management) amd here we are now.

This is not what was here before the current regime.  This is what they did to make the situation worse.

  4. I just want to know when this 'new' regime is going to 'deal' with the issues.

Personally feel they dropped the ball not trading Miller last year.

Add to that how that effected the Horvat situation and what looks like the need to trade our captain and a truly valuable player who they should have signed last summer.

If they can't get the job done they need to go and yesterday.  My dog could do a better job of getting the job done.

Miller and his contract are the least of the Canucks problems.  I don't get the obsession with him.  He's still producing almost a point a game, even in what some would call a slump.  There's a reason why he got the contract he did, and would have gotten from other teams too. Let's enjoy him here instead of b%^&$#ing about some future prediction of when his play actually does decline with age.  He'll be a stud for us for probably 4/5 years more I'd think. And IMO is built like a player that will play in the league a long time.  The situation where a team buys out the player in his last years of his contract is normal operating procedure in most hockey orgs.

Of course, if the offer was too good to resist, no one is untouchable, but if not and he stays?.....Love it! A huge part of this team's success, and helps with Petey's success too.

The issue is his attitude not his production.

I think you need a reality check. Most fans have been patient for 10 years. This team is not confusing at all. It is fragile, capped out, and lacks defensive awareness. Demko looked great, and likely is getting back to form, and he, Miller and Bo will push this team to 10th-12th or so in the West.

The only confusing thing is management seemingly doubling down on this team. They will be forced to trade Horvat. If Horvat goes, Boeser and Miller should also follow. With that, the Canucks may actually have a legit chance at a top 5 pick, which is what they really need.

Instead, they are going to hire Rich Tocchet, get coaching bump, and as I said finish with a dreaded 13-16th overall pick. They will get another 1st round pick (Likely 2024) in the Horvat trade and say they tried everything they could to sign the captain blah blah blah and succeeded in their goals of getting younger and more picks. BS.

Really think it's you that needs a reality check.

The new regime is not going to turn the team around on a dime.  It is not their style or what they were hired to do.  We may see a big trade or two and hopefully those trades bring in prospect depth and draft picks.  We will make the playoffs this year and goal will be to make them every year from here on out.  I don't believe we will ever tank.  But yes I still believe Horvat or Miller must go, whichever brings the best haul.

Slow and steady wins the race and I believe that is the plan.

  7. The issue is really just that we didn't get harder to play against.  And other teams are just wearing us down.

This is back to the failed Ferland health and failed Virtanen effort and brain malfunctions.  We need power on the top three lines.  Too many precision players and no wrecking balls. MacEwan or Gads would look good with Petey right now.  Give him space and he CAN do it alone.  And Kuz can help.  Who is there to back the opposition off them?
