  2. CANUCKS ASSIGN ALEX BIEGA TO THE COMETS Oct 18, 2018 Utica, N.Y. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has assigned defenseman Alex Biega to the Comets. Biega suited up in 138 NHL games with the Vancouver Canucks, recording 20 points (2-18-20). He did not play in any games with the Canucks this season. The Montreal, Quebec native also appeared in 77 games with the Comets from 2014-17 including the inaugural season and the 2015 Calder Cup Finals run. Biega was named as team’s captain in the 2015-16 season.
  3. Been to almost every home game since day one and this has to rank as the worst showing by any Comets team. It was even more painful in person than on AHL TV. They looked like a mediocre Div 3 team playing Stanley Cup Champs the 1st period. The middle ten minutes of the 3rd they came to life but stymied by great goal tending. Some of the stats you may have missed. Gave up 3 goals on 5 shots and then 5 goals on 15 shots. Amerks were 4/5 on the PP. This one is a total write off and let's get Kulbakov between the pipes for Cleveland. One great milestone it was an official sellout number 120 tying St Johns consecutive regular season record. 135th sellout counting playoff games. The empty seats are no show season ticket holders too lazy to transfer or sell their tickets.
  4. Alex Biega will not be an option against Rochester, Cull said. He is expected to join the Comets this weekend.
  5. Alex Biega went unclaimed on waivers. Biega was put on waivers so that the Canucks could activate Antoine Roussel from the injured reserve list. Now that he's gone unclaimed, Biega will head to the minors. Oct 15 - 12:41 PM

  10. The video clip catches the end of an altercation between Brendan Woods and Senator #41 Filip Chlapik. We missed lasts night game so not sure what predicated the fight but for his efforts Woods received 2 min instigating, 5 min fighting, 10 min misconduct-instigating and 10 min game misconduct aggressor, that's why the Comets had to fend off a 7 minute PP which they successfully did.
