Unbelievable. Virtanen is fat and slow at his age. He should be ashamed of himself when he looks at guys like Edler and Beagle who are10yrs older and still in way better shape than him.
Guess he likes the pizza and burgers too much and training not so much.
Should have made him go to Sweden hang out with EP for 2 months of summer.
Little harsh. I would reserve judgement until the season gets underway first.
Yeah, Jake needs to pick it up, but he’s still young and has some maturing to do.

Laffs are trash. They started all this nonsense in RFA with Matthews/Nylander contracts etc. I hope they fail spectacularly.

Ahh our boy Stech puking during the bag skate, must be training camp!
I’ve ran a couple half marathons and lots of 10km runs and I never puked, and that is gruelling on the body.
That speaks a lot about how much that boy pushes himself. Much respect!

That Archibald is Josh, not Darren.
My bad. Still doesn’t make them any better though

Lol I just happened to see the potential Oil’s lineup at the start of the season. 3 former Canucks. Not necessarily the potential lines but something like
Draisatl- McDavid- Kassian
Granlund- Nugent-Hopkins- Chaisson
Gagner- Sheahan- Neal
Nygard- Haas - Archibald
Ouch.

I hope we can get Brock signed sooner rather than later, but I can’t imagine what he and his family are going through right now. I’m sending my prayers for his father and family

He was wrong on the # of years (I think he said 3) but I'm pretty sure he was the one that broke the news that the signing was imminent. Dhaliwal is the best source our market has, like it or not.
Actually if I recall, he said Edler was going to test free agency. And we saw how that turned out.
I don’t trust his credibility but To each their own I suppose.

Dhaliwal was flat out wrong about Edler so I’m not believing anything that moron says.

Do us and yourself a favour and lay off the drugs, okay?

The media is bringing this up, not so much him. And he’s ready to embrace it, and all his teammates call him “Cap” because they respect him and his work ethic.
Is there anyone else really ready for that responsibility? Not that I can see.

It’s good to be back! Since I was looking forward to this season way more compared to the last few, this offseason felt much longer!
And anyone notice Petey looks a lot bigger and stronger? I’m stoked to see what the Alien has in store for us!

The Edmonton Oilers; where first round picks die. In short, the Oil draft you? Run.

I just want to see hockey again. I’m so sick of baseball highlights on my news feeds!

Can we lock this thread already? It’s like beating a dead horse. Dahlen is gone back to Sweden, we got something in return, Benning was right and we can rest easy.
Kthxbye!

That’s nice. I heard you have to have skates to be a hockey player too.. no?

I think San Jose is very overrated. Though still a good team, I think people are really overvaluing their aging core. Yes, Burns is still elite, and Couture is a stud and Meier is going to be solid, but Karlsson is getting older and more injury proned and they haven’t improved at all since last season.
Flames overachieved a lot last year, and they are soft as butter. They don’t scare me at all.
Don't see us keeping up with Vegas though.

Yes! Congrats Jimbo! It’s well deserved.
Over his course with us he has restocked the prospect pool, made stellar draft choices with no top 3 selections, revamped the scouting team and built us a young and exciting team to watch. He’s made me more excited for the future of the team than I’ve been in almost 8 years.
And it makes me happy to see the usual Benning haters blow a gasket over this. HF boards and Twitter are having a Everest level aneurism. Lol, what tools!

Awesome! I always liked Higgy and he was a damn good hard worker. He was clutch when went on our 2011 run. Glad to have him back! Time to get Higgy with it!

Appreciate the time and effort you put into this. I disagree with Splitting up Petey and Brock though. They have potential to be an elite duo and will only continue to get better together. While I like Goldy, he needs to severely up his game if he wants to stay in the NHL. He has the potential to do it, he just needs to execute.

Congrats to Bo and Holly! All the best to you two!

The way I see it...
Our window of opportunity is just starting to open. So with all the upgrades this offseason, I expect this team to at least make the playoffs. If we make it and put up a fight, then I’d say it would be a success.
If we fail to make the playoffs, then that will be a huge disappointment in my eyes and I’m sure management and the team likewise.
Bottom line is we must find a way to stay healthy. Injuries have absolutely killed us these last few years, so if we can stay healthy we have a good shot.

I am throughly enjoying the dumpster fire Oilers circus.
What will they do with Lucic? Hmmm
-
Ooooo I hope so. I’d love to see the Laff pandemonium ensue! Do it!

Good Morning CDC. It absolutely poured here in Victoria last night. It’s really sloppy and wet outside but at least it’s awesome to have the Canucks in my hometown.
I hope the game goes good tomorrow. Excited!
