Unbelievable. Virtanen is fat and slow at his age. He should be ashamed of himself when he looks at guys like Edler and Beagle  who are10yrs older and still in way better shape than him.

Guess he likes the pizza and burgers too much and training not so much.

Should have made him go to Sweden hang out with EP for 2 months of summer.

Little harsh. I would reserve judgement until the season gets underway first.

Yeah, Jake needs to pick it up, but he’s still young and has some maturing to do.

  2. Lol I just happened to see the potential Oil’s lineup at the start of the season. 3 former Canucks. Not necessarily the potential lines but something like

    Draisatl- McDavid- Kassian

    Granlund- Nugent-Hopkins- Chaisson

    Gagner- Sheahan- Neal

    Nygard- Haas - Archibald

    Ouch.

He was wrong on the # of years (I think he said 3) but I'm pretty sure he was the one that broke the news that the signing was imminent. Dhaliwal is the best source our market has, like it or not.

Actually if I recall, he said Edler was going to test free agency. And we saw how that turned out.

I don’t trust his credibility but To each their own I suppose.

  4. Yes! Congrats Jimbo! It’s well deserved.

Over his course with us he has restocked the prospect pool, made stellar draft choices with no top 3 selections, revamped the scouting team and built us a young and exciting team to watch.  He’s made me more excited for the future of the team than I’ve been in almost 8 years.

And it makes me happy to see the usual Benning haters blow a gasket over this. HF boards and Twitter are having a Everest level aneurism. Lol, what tools!

  5. Appreciate the time and effort you put into this. I disagree with Splitting up Petey and Brock though. They have potential to be an elite duo and will only continue to get better together. While I like Goldy, he needs to severely up his game if he wants to stay in the NHL. He has the potential to do it, he just needs to execute.

  6. The way I see it...

Our window of opportunity is just starting to open. So with all the upgrades this offseason, I expect this team to at least make the playoffs. If we make it and put up a fight, then I’d say it would be a success.

If we fail to make the playoffs, then that will be a huge disappointment in my eyes and I’m sure management and the team likewise.

Bottom line is we must find a way to stay healthy. Injuries have absolutely killed us these last few years, so if we can stay healthy we have a good shot.
