I'm trying to find the post where the guy said Pettersson would start off slow with 8 points in 10 games and everyone was flaming him for it. Well, I think we might agree now that 8 points in 10 games would be a pretty slow start for him.

Disappointed if it is less than 5. There's a difference between this and say a Wilson hit. Wilson's hits don't usually look premeditated and he sometimes catches the player in the head. They aren't malicious...but I agree they should be suspendable. This play on Pettersson though was straight malicious and intent to injure. This type of play should be handed the most serious suspension. In the court system, there is mens rea and actus reus. Wilson has the actus reus but not necessarily the mens rea...Matheson has both and therefore should be considered way more serious.

Actually 3 points were power play and 3 were 5 on 5. Canucks have 4 power play goals, only one of which Pettersson has not gotten a point.

Watching this preseason game just reminds me and probably everyone of how important Bo is to have in the lineup. It reminds me of last year when he was injured for two months. It's been such a scrappy game, and there is noone on the team, except EP (although definitely not as strong 5 v 5), who can drive the play at all. It makes it a scrappy ping pong match which is hardly watchable and almost impossible to score. The two preseason games Bo was in, I didn't think that at all because he was able to keep driving the play and that made it more fun to watch. Oh how I hope he doesn't get injured this year.

Looks like Pettersson will be the rookie this year that'll be called Captain Second Assist. I wouldn't be opposed to having him be as good as Barzal last year though.

Don't forget Heiskanen. I think he'll be turning some heads in the calder race this year. I think he has a chance to beat Dahlin for the best rookie defenseman this year.

So apparently Elias Pettersson is so good that he is breaking NHL Rank King's site. For comparison, McDavid was a 92 and Eichel an 86 and next highest currently on the list is Alex Heponiemi at 87.

Expect Hughes to take a big jump from first to first? Well that's nice to know. XD

I don't understand why so many people dislike high numbers. I'd say that I remember players' numbers better being higher numbers than lower numbers because that makes their number more unique.
