  1. If Canucks win Rasmus Dahlin, they'll be on the fast track to the glory days. Pettersson is just unreal. Skills for days.
  2. Pettersson just keeps on producing. Picks up the assist. 1-0 Vaxjo.
  3. Looks like you really care about my opinions. 3rd or 4th time you've responded to me in a triggered way. Relax and breathe a bit there bud. Like you said this is a hockey forum, don't let me keep you up at night. The onus will be on Juolevi to have a strong summer, so he doesn't bomb training camp like he did last year. If he can't beat out the fringe d-men on the Canucks, it's likey becasue he has not ironed out his deficiencies which is a bad sign. I have confidence that Juolevi is prepared and knows what to do this summer, expect him to make an impression in camp and make the team just like management hopes as well.
  4. Ellis and Morrissey were not top 10 picks. Dumba played in the NHL after 2 years. 58 games.
  5. lmao Hickey is nothing special If Juolevi turns into that, then that's a disaster.
  6. Lol at bringing up mid-round drafted prospects like Ghost who are supposed to take 3-4 years. Someone like Jack Rathbone for instance, I expect to take 3-4 years of development and they should take that long, hence being picked in the mid rounds. Give me a top 5 pick (defenseman) that took 4 years to make it to the big league. If it takes that long they likely end up as nothing special. Even in the top 10, the good d-men don't take 4 years lmao The true impact players drafted that high don't take that long, they're in the show by 2 years. If Juolevi did have an amazing first year of professional hockey than he should have no problem cracking a bottom 5 NHL defence next year. He should be clearly better than MDZ, Stecher. Pouilot, Biega, and Hutton which are all fringe 5/6/7's. I expect a big summer of training and fixing his conditioning issues, and making the team next year. I'm sure this is management's hopes as well.
  7. Lol sneaky guy over here. Actually, read the conversation and don't leave things out to suit your narrative. A poster said it's fine if he takes 4 years. If he takes that long he's most likely a bust and if you think he takes that long, I would capitalize as soon as possible before the asset loses value. Just like Garth Snow did with Griffen Reinhart. Yes he should be in the NHL next year, that's what I expect out of my top 5 picks, to be in the show at least 2 years after being drafted and contributing in the NHL. And I expect he will, but needs to have a big summer and work on his conditioning issues.
  8. Probably one of the better games of Juolevi I've seen, was all over the ice, strong in all 3 zones. Had 10 shots, logged big minutes, which was something I was dying to see, was excellent on the powerplay like always. Very encouraging Playoffs for Juolevi, who seems to step it up in big game situations. Still needs to get faster and improve his first 3 steps and that should be the focus over the summer. With a big summer and solid traning camp, he sould be in the NHL next year growing with the next core.
  9. Like I said his skating has regressed. He gets walked regularly and beat wide. Definitely, agree with the slow feet part. The attitude part I could believe as well with all the rumours around him. If he needs 2 more years trade him before his value drops even more like the NYI did with Griffen Reinhart. Overall just a disappointing draft choice with future stars like Tkachuk, Keller, and Sergachev going immediately after.
  10. Actually really liked his game today. Had a couple turnovers that I wish he played better and there are still some concerns about his one on one defending for me. But for the most part, made crisp outlet passes to his forwards and was great on the powerplay. Good shot for his goal. Was mostly calm and cool and didn't handle the puck like a grenade like I've seen in the past. Only played 17 minutes but that's probably the level he's at right now.
  11. That pass was Mitch Marner like where he looking at the goalie the whole time but has eyes on the side of his head and just threads it perfectly to his teammate who had an open net. He was straight up dominant in the 2nd period at times. His skating has come a long way since the beginning of the season. He has also fought through a lot of physical play on the boards which is good to see
  12. Pettersson with an excellent pass in close for his 2nd assist of the game. Having a great game thus far. Vaxjo up 4-3.
  13. His skating has regressed so much since he was drafted, it's going to cause big-time problems if he ever makes it. In the Finnish league, nobody's just make him look like a pylon skating around him, he can't do anything because of how bad his backward skating is. He very rarely carries the puck up ice which is disappointing. There was one play in OT in game 1 where he tried to carry the puck, had the easy pass to his left winger but completely bobbled the puck and shot it into the bench. The commentators couldn't stop laughing. Looks like he has very low confidence when he plays. Since he was drafted to now, he has lost almost all his dynamic qualities and has turned into a bland, safe, slow d-man who's best quality is making a good stretch pass with no pressure to his forward. Then you hear Salo and how he still has work to do with conditioning it's very concerning. The NHL is, even more, faster, much more intense, with more skilled players.
  14. Unreal season. I was high on Pettersson and had him 3rd on my board but even I didn't expect this nobody did. Unbelievable production by him. The most encouraging thing is his goal-scoring ability, at 0.55 GPG it might be as elite as his vision/playmaking. PPG in Allsvenskan 1.27 PPG in SHL What will he be at 22 in the NHL? At this point, you have to classify him as a franchise level talent. Hard not to be giddy.
  15. For those of you who have watched recently does he do anything impressive, any offensive plays that make you take notice? Or is he just meh everywhere? 1 point in his last 11 games. looks like he's playing 2-3 minutes more than his average ice-time these last 3 three games so there's that.
  16. Think he'll make the team. He's dominating in arguably the 3rd best league in the world but if he goes back to Sweden for another year it needs to be him playing Centre full time. Of course, that wouldn't be up to Canucks brass as they would have no control over his deployment so would rather see him in Utica if he can't crack the Canucks which I can't see happening.
  17. Gaudette with the EN goal. His 27th goal and a career high in goals.
  18. His scoring has dried up significantly. Believe that's no points in 8 straight games now. Only 1 goal in his last 23 games. Would like to see him get some games in the 20+ min range soon as well.
  19. They would be crazy to not trade a 28 year old injury prone player for a 1st round pick in a deep draft and a top prospect. If this is a true rebuild that type of deal has to be made.
  20. Looks like TPS loses 3-1. Juolevi a -2 in 16:54 ice time No points for him in 7 straight games really struggling after the WJC it seems, fear that it could be his conditioning not being up to par.
