why is it this team after having one bad game decides to just barely show up for 4 or 5 games after
how can this not be somewhat blamed on the coach to coach them out of this. -
So like I get we aren't allowed to voice any grievances towards our coaching staff.
But I mean really Sutter is who you pick to replace Peterson on the first pp unit?. Over virtanen?.
This team hurts my head sometimes I really do love them but man do they all collectively decide to not show up some nights or what

meh the team got better defensively from last years so has markstrom its only fair to say the better the team gets defensively and the less markstrom has to stand on his head night in and night out the "better" stat wise he will become...

Also...please get the facts straight....or at least include all of them. We'd missed the playoffs for the first time in years and he was causing some ripples on the bench (Lu says hello, as does Honey Badger). So it wasn't for saying the team sucked but, even if it was, that's not a great way to fire up your roster. Sort of de-motivating when the boss does that. You mean the guy who thought we should block EVERYTHING?
I loved Torts, don't get me wrong. But he wasn't a good fit here...was like throwing gasoline on the fire.
he wasnt a fit for an aging team that was ready to be blown up. he called it how it was. imagine where we could be now if the gm and owner didnt try to hang on to what was in 08-11'? true we wouldnt get all the kids we have today and i like the kids we have today. it was just painful watching old slow unmotivated professionals collect a pay cheque and do nothing

you guys had your chance with a passionate coach that will defend their players at all cost.... you ran him out of town after one year because he told it like it was this team sucked and the sedins were holding us back.

i still strongly believe guddy got neutered after that toronto game last year. why else would he only let the intimidating side come out when he was pissed off?. fact is after the moore incident vancouvers goes out of its way to be an extremely soft team.
the "make them pay on the scoreboard" is good and all but it gets little old specially when we start having injuries pile up from stupid plays. like omas hyka trying to kill baertschi

Now that Pittsburgh is healthy he is back to being a 3rd pairing defenseman, which is where he belongs.
3rd pairing NHL and AHL is a pretty big difference in skill level, but eh this is the cancer that is CDC and everyone needs to be erik karlsson on defensive or they are trash

played good in florida. plays good in Pittsburgh, it sucks but the canucks defensive systems blow hard.
when hughs come in next year and doesnt put up 60-70 points are we gonna see posts from you whinging that he is only a AHL defensemen?

If anything, Guddy's partner has sometimes played better than Guddy HIMSELF when their on a pairing. When a player is getting that kind of money, $4 million means that you're a pretty decent defenceman, you don't need another dman to prop you up.
As for Keith Ballard, I didn't think he was bad at all, he really got the short end of the stick with that moron AV favoring his pet Aaron Rome. He wasn't worth the 4 million, but he's an awful lot better when he played than Biega, Pouliot, Sbiza and sure as hell better than Gudbranson
but look how hes doing in Pittsburgh? he looks pretty decent and worth 4 mil id say. this is the issue with green he forces players to play to what he feels is how you are supposed to play and not playing his players to their strengths. why else would guddy go to a different team and look like a different player?.
also i think you guys underestimate how being paired with $&!#ty d partner can screw your style of play up big time. guddy may not be a guy that can run his own line. but hes pretty good when partnered with someone that can..

not played bad but not played like we need him to if he wants to be a "leader" point is canucks fans favoritism is worse then some coaches

what i find great is gudbranson always got the worst partners to play with. and how people like bo get a pass when they play like $&!# because "oh look at his wingers" gudbrason got stuck with every new call up and the likes of pouliot. watching how much time biega gets with edler right now is laughable. it was clear gudbrason was good with edler yet they refused to use him to his strenghts. yet they will just through a "7th defensivemen " with edler now? nothing against biega i like the dude. but the canucks really have along history how poorly deploying their defensive pairings. brings back memories of keith ballard another person that wasnt nearly as bad as canucks fans made him out to be
