Ok, I’ll be that guy lol - “has been” means that something began in the past and has lasted into the present time ::D

I'm not so sure about that RomanP.  Take this hypothetical quote for example: "OEL has been a #1 defenceman in the NHL....."  This isn't an untrue statement, but it also doesn't mean that OEL is still a #1 d-man (as we can all attest to).::D

I don't wish you to keel over Captain Canuck #12, you are much too valuable a poster, but I was a teenager in the '50s living in the UK and, despite my advanced years I DO remember Dan Dare from "Eagle" comics, as well as "The Beano", "The Dandy" etc. etc.   I'm sure Googlie will also remember those comics.

    I can't believe he found one!...Fainting GIFs | Tenor

If you were around the UK in the 50's, you will remember Eagle Comics' Dan Dare and the Mekon.

Petey sporting the Mekon look .....

If you get one person on this board who responds affirmatively to this, or even has any idea what you're referring to,  I'll keel over on the spot!::D

Rick used to be really on top of these things until he started becoming like the rest of Vancouver media and spending his time stirring up controversy.

Yes.  And likely a few too many double Crown & Cokes as well.

Not sure if this has been covered yet, but here are my ideal trade destinations for Miller:

    Calgary:
Key piece is Rasmus Andersson.  25YO RD signed for 4.5m.  Probably need to involve a few other pieces as Calgary needs cap space to sign Gaudreau & Tkachuk.  Could see Toffoli coming back (could always flip him for a pick at the trade deadline) or Lucic (I know he's useless, but we can flip him for a pick at the trade deadline too, or request a higher pick from Calgary to compensate).
Maybe something like Miller + x for Rasmus Andersson + Toffoli/Lucic + high pick.

    Florida:
They have 1 more year before they have to re-sign Huberdeau so they have one more year to go all in. Key piece would be Verhaeghe.  I could also see Hornqvist coming back (flip for a pick + have florida send a higher pick to compensate).  I would love Lundell but Florida would be dumb to trade him.
Miller + x for Verhaeghe + Hornqvist + high pick.

    Carolina:
Not sure what they are going to do, but I wouldn't mind Necas via a sign & trade over to the canucks (assuming he signs a favorable contract).
    Miller for Necas.

    It's been covered.

According to this, he's shown good FO ability, along with PK prowess (only scored on twice during PK), also has a good shot and can play center.
If he proves ready for the 3rd C role I would be ecstatic.

Unfortunately, Ryan Johnson makes it clear in today's Province article on Karlsson's signing that he will be playing on the wing, as he has shown good ability to play either wing.  This is just great...now we have exactly 0 legitimate prospects at C !

Russian hockey vlogger Cherkas Atlant travelled this season through various NHL cities that have Russian players and created long episodes about them. A few days ago he released first episode about Vancouver Canucks and Podkolzin. Unfortunately, there are no English subtitles for it and with it being almost 2.5 hours, it'll take a long time to translate. But Vasiliy proved again his great character, praising Vancouver as a city to live in, Boudreau as a great coach, knowing the things he needs to work on. His self-assessment of what he achieved in his first season was 70% overall, about 35% for scored points and 75% for settling in the city. If you know Russian - it's here:

    благодарю вас!
