  1. Unless this would be a cap clearing trade that enables us to get a top 4 D or two afterwards put me as a hard no. Every single fan of this team actually agrees on something: we need better D-men. That is the only thing they should be looking for, because it’s our teams biggest hole. Using some of our few valuable assets to grab a winger who are in plentiful stock instead of D, which are rare is management malpractice.

So Elon unbanning Andrew Tate resulted in Tate getting embarrassed by Greta Thunberg, then Tate proceeded to verify that he was in Romania (by a pizza box of all things), then the officials arrested him.

    Funny how that worked out.

Surely you’re not implying Musk is playing 4-D chess and unbanned him so Tate would reveal his location and authorities would arrest him right? Sometimes even wrong actions can have good consequences. That’s what this chalks up to.

Anyone else not really impressed with Fantilli? For someone who supposedly is projected to be a consolation prize in case they miss out Bedard, he has basically been invisible. I think he'll slip down the rankings because of this tournament tbh.

Zellweger - goddamn, what a pick by Anaheim. Total stud.

There’s always the top prospect guy in the draft who struggles at the World Juniors and there’s always the lower ranked prospect guy who explodes at the World Juniors. In most cases the first guy becomes a better player. Sometimes the former falls in the draft and the latter rises as teams put too much stock into the competition, but basing decisions of an entire prospective hockey career on 1 tournament while playing with guys they’ve never played with before often makes the drafting team look silly. Fantilli should be picked number 2 regardless of his performance here and if a team does skip over him they’re likely going to wind up regretting that decision.

i dont know man, they wore a black uni through 80's and 90's as i recall. dont remember picking up a cup along the way

There’s more levels to performance in hockey than just cup winners and losers. Clearly I was referencing the modern record during a time when the skate actually stands out on the ice and doesn’t look like “just another jersey” as it did back in the 80’s and 90’s when all teams had the same styles. 5-1-1 and every other alternative jersey game record is godawful, including the Johnny Canuck. Argue all you want about why that is, but the result speaks for itself.

Who the F is going to trade for Miller at this point? So many people on here clammer just trade Miller and sign Horvat as if it were that easy. That ship probably sailed in the off-season as Horvat is now much more valuable and Miller is being exposed for what he is. A big F up by management (ownership) but one they are probably going to have to eat. Trading Miller is an absolute pipe dream at this point.

When you look at the contract and caliber of the players that fetched a 1st or more at the trade deadline in past years, you quickly realize there will always be a desperate team who overpays by a lot to get a guy with less points production then Miller. Someone will want him and pay a pretty penny too.
