No first round pick based on nux press release. Bunch of false reports on radio.
I hope your right! Cause then I'm just an a hole that over reacted ha

Jim we need a right hand D not a forward like damn. I could live with trading a first if it brought ristlo to van but Miller damn.

Interesting that Canucks obviously were neither sold on Newhook nor on Krebs. They brought both in for an extended interview, but decided to stay away from both with their 1st round pick.
Newhook at 16, Krebs at 17 ------> B.R.U.T.A.L.
And people say Jim doesn't use smoke screens ha

I feel the same way. But with so many good players left on the board I think it was worth keeping that second round pick. The Canucks need more prospects in the system.
Hoping to land Bobby Brink tomorrow. But would be happy with Raphael Lavoie, Matthew Robertson, Mikko Kokkonen, or Patrik Puistola. Even Arthur Kaliyev.
From what Burke and them said about kaliyev and lavoie.....I rather have Rees or someone else....

I like the pick Podkolzin. Big and nasty player. I'm happy ha wanted Zegras but podz makes me happy still ha

What if ownership doesn't allow him to?
You got me there but Jim should get ownership to see his point or his side

Not even remotely. This is the best shape, with regard to prospects, that this org has ever been in........and they don't have the assets to make a big trade, imo.
I agree we have never had a prospect pool this good....I'm not saying go out and make a huge splash I just mean add another second or get lucky and add a late first and we may lack assets but we have cap space...

They're picking at #10 and it's unlikely zegras is there, best find peace with that. I doubt we'll see a trade.......it's not the deadline, they have the summer.
I get that he might gone...but Jim never bites the built and makes a trade...his biggest trade was kesler and he forced a trade...your not tired of seeing nothing happen?
Most rebuilding teams take bad contracts for picks or move vets and sign free agents.....not Jim though
-
I'm a Jim benning fan but if he doesn't do anything this draft...I have to say Canucks have to bring in a pres like Burke cause it shows Jim can't trade....I've watched the trade deadline every year and watch him do almost nothing and same goes for the draft.....I want Zegras so bad and please no Barrie need a big right hand D. He'll bring in Lucic if he comes with picks....just do something.

And Seider is this "mean" guy? Lol.
Well his the only D that plays with an edge in the top what 20....
in todays nhl I would say yes....
his not pronger mean but he could be like trouba and with his size, he should be able to clear the crease

There could be some big lugs later in the draft though.
Yeah, I'm all onboard for Zegras. I think that's why there's rumour of the Canucks want to move to the 6th overall.
Could picture Zegras centring the second line and Green playing bo with petey and brock
This draft lacks RD. I really want Rees in the second round ha
i almost wonder maybe Jim finds his RD next year cause theres not much out there.

I was listening to Craig Button, and he says Seider reminds him of Brandan Carlo, who rides shotgun for Krug. Button said Seider would be an excellent partner for Hughes.
Pronger would be perfect, but are there any Pronger type players any more?
I agree he would be perfect for Hughes.
Pronger types.....ummmmm ha I haven't seen any with his mean streak for awhile...I used him as example cause him and Scott had perfect balance just like Keith and Seabrook.
If there was a Pronger type D in this draft he would be going higher then 10 ha

Seider and Bloomburg are hadly mean guys...I woudn't even call them tough.
Frankly, I don't think the Canucks pick up any of them unless Zegras or Krebbs are gone. It will be a long while before anyone knows how they turn out as NHL players.
Seider has laid a few good hits this pasted season.
Sieder is also the only real physical right hand D in this draft.
I agree I want Zegras bad!

If a defenseman, either Broberg or Seider (unless of course we happen to get Byram). I don't think either are "mean" as you put it, but they both have the size, strength, and skating ability to box people out, have strong board play, and clear the crease.
Broberg I'm not to high on....he will need a stay at home D like Muzzin. having Hughes and OJ and a deep depth on the left side but drafting him we could move OJ but his stock isn't to higher right now and Seider is a right shot and plays with an edge and use to playing against men.
Byram would be perfect but his not dropping to us.

Price all class.

Also, W and LD are not as valuable as RD. I've always thought Soderstrom would be an ideal LW for Hughes, as he is such a complete player and a very fast skater. His passing is exceptional and he has a great wrist shot. He showed his offensive acumen in the previous season when he played against U20's, but this year he played in the SHL (alongside the best players in Sweden), where 17yr olds are rarely given optimum offensive minutes.
He would be a fantastic player to have on our team. Somehow though, I don't think JB is wanting to trade down to pick up any of the ds other than BB. If he does, I think he sits at 6 and sees if he can move down again, or picks the top FW on their list.
Two skill guys together? Ha oilers tried that and so have the leafs. Who clears the crease?
You need balance.....Keith and Seabrook and Niedermayer and Pronger....
Seider should be the only D on Jim's mind cause with Hughes and OJ will both need a mean guy like seabrook or pronger.

I really hope Jim doesn't draft a D man unless it's Seider.....with Hughes and OJ and woo....that would be a perfect balance to a top four.
Thats a top four you can win a cup with smart and nasty

Since when has JB ever given anyone the impression he's the kind of guy to use trickery or deceit to pull one over one someone?
He tried to trade down with the Knights and tried to make it sound like he liked Glass....I wouldn't put it pasted him.
