Podz shouldn't be playing on the 4th line at all, no way he's put in that position to start the year imo

No teams are perfect. Especially not Seattle or Vegas.
Vegas basically had a 1/2 of a 1st line and 3 third lines. Seattle was kinda built the same way
Agreed. I never found Vegas any good, thought they were a decent team but had no idea they'd win the cup. They have a decent blue line though but I think even with our current roster, we're a lot more than a fringe playoff team.

What do we need to be contending for the cup? I honestly feel like a lot of this depends on the emergence of Podz and Hogz. If they have solid years, we could be going somewhere. I feel like we have a very solid top 9, but are missing a bonafide 3C and another solid top 4 D (someone like Pesce, Tanev). What do the rest of you think? What pieces do we need to compete?

His values pretty low right now, I'd keep him. 3 years left, trade him when hes on a hot streak, not like we're really going anywhere anyways

I fully disagree. If Bo is indeed on the way out, the hole in the lineup will be huge. Good luck replacing his skills via free agency. Will have to be free agency seeing as we are brutal at drafting and developing.
Hmm interesting. I would assume we'd get a pretty good package for Bo, and considering that he doesn't really make the guys around him better, I don't think it'll be extremely difficult to replace him. Not saying it will be easy, but I fully believe that having a two way center that can make the guys around him better is what we need as our top two C's
-
I don't mind letting Bo go. He's a solid goal scorer and great on faceoffs, but doesn't do much else. Good player, don't get me wrong, but not someone who I think we can win with. Think we can get some solid pieces for him, and I also don't think he'll be able to keep up his goal scoring at this rate.

I feel like losing our assistant coaches (Brad Shaw & Scott Walker) were a massive deal and is probably a reason why we aren't playing well. On paper, we're by far a playoff team, but there literally is no structure. Felt like last year atleast we had some structure and our defense was actually pretty good. Anyone else feel the same way? Would love to hear other opinions!

Anyone know the name of the Canucks new entrance song? I remember hearing it in NHL but I forgot the name of it
-
How did he play the last two games? Wasn't able to catch the entire game but heard he was decent?
-
I think the most frustrating part about all of this is that, we actually aren't bad. Like we had multi-goal leads, we dominated some games as well. We looked like a strong offensive team, and it sort of went all to shambles. Idk, its weird, frustrating, and i don't know how to feel.

I have a feeling they'll go on a big streak eventually, this isn't a coaching issue or anything, I think its just a confidence issue. We are a much better team than we were last year. I don't blame Rutherford for resigning Miller, no one expected him to drop off like this. Hopefully just a slump, lets wait 20-25 games before coming to conclusions.

Everyone needs to calm down, its 4 games holy wait till maybe 20-25 before coming to conclusions about signing/trading the guy

Where the Streets have No Name is the best one imo, but my goodness imagine if they played Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand. People would go nuts

Wait so if perhaps Poolman is on LTIR for the rest of the year, we can use that 2.5M in cap? Sorry I was never too sure on how this LTIR stuff worked!

Burroughs reminds me a lot of Bieksa, I think our right side isn't actually terrible when healthy, we literally just need a Severson type of guy to solidify that right side and after that, I don't really see what else we need. maybe I'm being naive tho lol idk

I mean their opinion on our teams seems largely the consensus here in that we're around 3rd in the Pacific. Not sure why anyone would be upset at that analysis.
It's not about that. It's about the fact they spent half the video talking about the list of the best looking coaches, like cmon guys

I've never been this excited to see if we had a waiver pickup, can't wait LOL

Screw these guys, such a joke of a show

Thoughts on Mike Reilly? He's a LD but damn he'd be great on that third pair

Damn if we can get Myers... That'd help a ton but idk I'm pretty sure someone before us will claim him

Our window barely opened, and we just one right def away to be in the run, and we need to get ride of the dead wood.
Dickinson + Poolman + 1st 2023for

i can cringe with the loss of any Bedard's chance, but dumping those miscast AND getting our much needed RD may worth it.Nah not worth it. Keep the first and sign him in FA

I actually don't know how Benning actually made the moves he made. Like idk if its his fault or Francescos lmao, like what was the process that went through his head when he signed Poolman to a $10M contract, or Loui to a $36M contract, it just never made sense to me. He drafted well tho imo, minus Virtanen and Juolevi.

I agree that Poolman should play in Abby until he can show he is good enough to warrant another try at the NHL. I think it is very unlikely that he get claimed on waivers. If we was claimed that would help the Canucks as he is not worth his cap hit. It is a bit late now to think about signing UFAs for this year, but I would still rather have Poolman's cap hit as cap space rather than going to Poolman. A bit of extra cap space might make a useful trade possible.
He is signed for two more years after this year with a cap hit of 2.5 million and is 29. Maybe he improves but right now that cap hit looks to me like the equivalent of dead money.
I was not happy with the DeKeyser experiment but I would say that DeKeyser looks better than Poolman. (DeK plays the left side so they are not direct substitutes.)
They won't send him down. I think the plan is to somehow regain his confidence and ship him off to a team as a trade chip. We're probably going to have to add but I'm fine with that honestly, he's never been good.

Maybe I'm overrating Podz and Hogz, but I genuinely feel like if these guys have breakout years, this team will look extremely different and be more than just a fringe playoff team. Really feel like Podz especially has star potential - really hope he can put it together, would be the perfect winger for Petey.
