  1. Let me preface by saying this is meant to be reflected mostly tongue in cheek. Alternatively because you may be predisposed to explaining something you have witnessed with the lens of "look at those sheep" I have driven with my mask on simply because I don't even notice it and often forget to take it off. As well I will put it on outside walking alone when it's cold out because...it's cold and I have it. I get what you're saying though. Sometimes at the ski hill I see these people wearing goggles still even though they are already at the bottom of the hill and I just think about how much better I am than they are because I don't need my security goggles. Don't even get me started on people with scarves.
  2. Prove it...again. Masks are part of a comprehensive plan to combat the spread of covid 19. They aren't the end all, they aren't the be all, and they were never sold as such. So again if they are ineffective in that regard then prove it because all evidence says you are wrong. You're welcome to your opinion of course but understand that it is just that. Unfortunately you claimed there was evidence.
  3. You can't lay it at his feet. He has been sub par as a backup goalie in the NHL this season but if we miss the playoffs he isn't even the top 3 reasons why.
  4. That's why I said they should be held accountable to their role. A fourth liner and a back up goalie should not be held to the same standards as a first liner or a starter. Outside of Boston and LA Halak has not been ok this season in his starts. If the answer is that the D should be firing the pucks away from him out of the zone then that's a huge problem in the NHL.
  5. I've said quite the opposite actually. You may be going wrong by thinking this is just a black and white problem. Saying that green was a problem and saying that Halak has played like crap this season isn't the same as saying this team is perfect if those two problems are solved. Yes every player should be held accountable but honestly this just seems like you're whining that other people are whining. There are several issues with this team for it to be competitive for anything more than a playoff spot. A giant hole on D filled with a player who doesn't fill the whole and may or may not have a longer than average neck would be another big one. That doesn't negate that coaching was a problem and it doesn't negate that the back up position not being properly filled is a problem.
  6. Well we still have the team Benning made and it's pretty obvious that with different coaching this team fairs much better. Under BB this team is playing .667 hockey which would put us first in our division. That's a pretty big gap from the .360 we played under Green with the same team. IMO Bennings biggest fault was keeping and vouching for Green. It seems to me that the guys on the ice were playing a system in both cases. One worked and one got several people fired.
  7. Absolutely but there is still an expectation for the back up to play well isn't there? A fourth liner has a role and shouldn't be able to s**t the bed on that role any more than a first liner wouldn't you agree?
  8. To be fair...team kind of picked up when a few of those "problems" were replaced with alternatives. Blame is a part of sports and competition. Blame is the same as saying reason.
  9. Forgive me but that's a really odd way of looking at that. I mean every goal is technically on the team but I think of "backbreaker" more as like the straw that broke the camels back. That doesn't absolve Halak of letting in goals like he was just called up from Bantam. It also doesn't absolve the team from letting that happen. What was the score if you reset the game to 0-0 when Demko went in net?
  10. I'm not sure I would go that far because we also know playing two full games back to back for a goalie isn't ideal. I'm comfortable saying the result would have been different; be that a win or a much closer game. The team in front of the crease wasn't playing their best hockey either and yes, a portion of that has to be playing without confidence knowing that every second shot was going to go in the net. Halak is not an NHL capable goaltender anymore or at lease this season no matter what team is in front of him. I'd rather have Holtby back tbh.
  11. I'm not disagreeing with you on that but I doubt the result would have been the same. Just taking last night into account with Demko in net that game was 1-1. Did the team play that much better in the second half? I didn't think so. Taking the season into account we don't have a capable back up goalie on this roster. It's tough to play when you know that the guy between the pipes isn't going to do the job and we can't blame the majority of his starts on bad D. Granted it's usually the second game of a back to back but that's not a sufficient excuse in my eyes. TL/DR not to be blamed on the goalie alone but a large portion of the blame should go to Halak especially seeing what the score was while Demko was in net.
  12. No loss is solely on any player ever. These are professionals and they should have the iq to adjust what they are doing to fill a gap. The problem is that gap is almost always Halak when he is on the ice. The guy just doesn't have it anymore to be a goalie in the NHL. Maybe flashes of it but that's not good enough in this league. He's just not a good enough goalie anymore to backup an NHL team. In 10 games he's played up to par in 2, Boston and LA. Those are the only games He looked even remotely NHLish. Maybe in the AHL or if things have gotten really bad he could play for the Coyotes. Bottom line is that I believe we have a better chance with one of our goalies in Abby backing up than we do with Halak.
  13. I mean it's pretty good already without the Ivermectin...right guys...right
  14. No, but we do regulate smoking which would be a better analogy because I can't give someone else second-hand fat.
  15. Northxas It works phonetically as well.
  16. Might I suggest a trade prior to the deadline. Canada trades Alberta in return for Washington State. Give everyone 5 years to get their affairs in order. Alberta becomes North Montana and Washington State becomes a new Province. Vancouver Washington changes its name to Calmonton.
  17. He is likely mistaking viral load with transmisability. I don't know why it's so common amongst the "patriots" to make this mistake as the answer is as simple as asking how the virus transmits and how much less to the vaccinated do those things in relation to unvaccinated.
  18. JT gives me a 20 pack of Tim-biebs every Friday for my contribution to the cause.
  19. Actually since they have been used before in the short history of our own country anybody with a brain new that they would potentially be brought in. However in 2020 we were just waiting for the actual vaccine. Nobody really thought vaccine mandates were a conspiracy theory. The bats&*t crazy conspiracy theories were the crazies talking about 5G and microchips and magnets.
  20. It's almost unreal how much damage a small percentage can do then I remember Good Ol Uncle Don stirring up s^#t at thanksgiving dinner and it all makes sense.
  21. Oh lord Quebecs response has been ok but every once in a while they pull some Mean Girls esque moves like curfews and I just shake my head. I didn't mind the booze and weed store mandates though but that one was just going to be funny.
  22. Did I say they should? I think it's time for some to go and I think that anybody saying there should be a full lock down again is as big a moron as anybody who thinks they should all be gone. Restrictions should end when this thing turns into the flu that I was told this thing was 2 years ago. If we all played together it might have happened by now. Sadly though a group of less than 10% of the population decided to make this a political and divisive topic rather than a healthcare subject and then complain that they aren't being treated the same as people who have done the right thing. They have a choice, they made a choice, they should live with that choice and shut up if they aren't going to help out. If my kid doesn't eat his vegetables there's no chance for desert. He's not happy about it when he digs his heels in and he give a little pout but he certainly doesn't through a temper tantrum about it.
  23. When most of the apples are bad it's time to cut down the tree. The proof is in the pudding. Flu Trux Clan Occupy Ottawa movement was dead as soon as people figured out who organized this sham.
