    It's not worse but it feels almost as bad. We finally had a direction. Draft picks and youth. Then we just traded away a 1st and a 2nd in an incredibly deep draft for a 'win within the next 3 years or bust' move. It's a gut punch.

Deal makes no sense unless they somehow go out and get some more draft picks / prospects before the deadline or at the draft. Bottom 10 team in the league paying futures for a win now player. Hilarious.

    Retooling to me implies some sort of past success to "retool" back towards. This group doesn't have that, so re tooling in this case just sounds like more middling, please the owner bullsh*t

    I'm trying to find something I like about it. Not hating on you for liking it, but by the time the Canucks are anywhere close to cup contention he's gonna be at least 27 Imho

    I keep seeing this "he's young" narrative but he's not... that young... and he's due for a raise next year. It's a short term move, meant to get this team into the playoffs next year. This isn't some 22 year old. Great idea, getting back into the playoffs. Hopefully this management group can do it, last group tried similar and failed big time.
