Greater Vancouver 10:04 AM PST Monday 28 January 2008 Snowfall warning for Greater Vancouver continued 10 to 20 cm of snow over the Queen Charlottes by Tuesday. 5 to 15 cm of snow across the south coast starting tonight. This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. A intense frontal system approaching the north coast will reach the south coast tonight. Ahead of the front snow has begun over the Queen Charlottes and will continue through Tuesday with snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 cm by Tuesday afternoon. Snow will begin to develop across the south coast tonight with snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm for most areas by Tuesday afternoon. Snow could be heavy at times over East Vancouver Island and the Fraser Valley where up to 15 cm can be expected by Tuesday evening. Meanwhile an Arctic ridge of high pressure will persist over northern British Columbia. Cold temperatures combined with strong outflow winds will continue to produce wind chill values of near or below minus 20 through Tuesday.
  17. I was at Vancouver just 30 min ago it was sunny with little flurries. I'm at Burnaby right now and it sh!tting snow!!! woah! Snowfall warning for Greater Vancouver issued 5 to 10 cm of snow along a stationary band stretching from new westminster to coquitlam. This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. A stationary band of snow has developed over the central suburbs of Greater Vancouver. New westminster burnaby coquitlam and port moody are currently affected by this localized band of snow. 5 to 10 cm of snow can be expected out of this localized band before easing later this afternoon. Elsewhere mainly cloudy skies and a chance of flurries can be expected for the remainder of the day.

Greater Vancouver 3:47 PM PST Friday 25 January 2008 Snowfall warning for Greater Vancouver issued Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm expected over the south coast except 15 cm over Howe Sound. Higher amounts of 15 cm are forecast for Bella Coola and up to 25 cm near Stewart. This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. A cool moist pacific system is expected to sweep southwards overnight reaching the Lower Mainland by Saturday afternoon. Snow will begin over northern and central Vancouver Island and the northern Sunshine Coast tonight and then spread over southern regions Saturday morning. Snow may become mixed with rain over areas near the coastline Saturday afternoon as temperatures rise to just above freezing.
