Nothing on the NFC side makes any sense.

You rank GB ahead of Atlanta? No. Even then Green Bay would have to be perfect down the road which means the Vikings won't make the playoffs (they play each other twice). Vikings also play against the Bears twice and Houston once in the remaining six games. They'll be lucky to be 3-3. And there's no way a 9-7 record would make the playoffs because Seattle would have a similar record if not better and contains the tie-breaker.

Vikings over SF? Vikings over Falcons? Chargers making playoffs? Unlikely.

  2. If Edwards didn't push his guy away from him as he was going back for the ball, that wouldn't have been a TD. And yes I can blame the officials because the majority of the penalties on the Pats in the 2nd half were brutally weak. Nah you didn't outplay us. If you outplayed us, the score differential would've probably been more but its not.

Don't blame the officials when Brady threw 2 crucial interceptions and poor clock management. More excuses tho, makes you look good.

  3. Seahawks won with help from the officials. How did Braylon Edwards NOT get an offensive pass interference? How the hell was that on the D? Only reason why Wilson was getting such good protection was largely in part of the many missed holding calls on the o-line.

gah whatever that was just a bad game from the secondary

How was that an OPI on Edwards? Blame the officials, that'll get you far. I could say the same for the numerous holds on Mebane and Clemons. Refs let them play and the non-calls balance it each other. We outplayed the Pats, period.

  4. Sometimes, players are passed over multiple times for a reason.

Unless he was the 2nd coming of Patrick Kane, his upside was a longshot away at best.

He better show something this season in Chicago, or dat's dat.

I wouldn't give up on a 20 year old prospect who had a nearly .5 PPG in the AHL despite being injured this year.

  5. Schroeder plays with Jason Zucker and Ryan Bourque, combined for 4 points in the tourney.

    Schroeder alone has 7.

Can't really blame him, I'd be pissed if I was Jordan.

Top WJC scorer for team USA and you get put on the SECOND line playing with PLUGS?

Imagine if he was playing with Stepan, Kreider, Kristo or Palmeri...

  6. I find this quote hilarious.

Well, first of all. I'm not 40 and second of all. I bet you that i get more women than you do.

I find it sad, that people have to try and take their frustrations and turn the corner to try to turn it into insults. If you wanted to prove a point, why don't you do what your suppose to in a hockey forum and talk hockey. Unfortunately, you have no idea. Intelligence doesn't apply to you.

Hey, Rey, check out my sig!

It's updated with another genius quote from you.

  7. Does anyone believe that Schroeder could potentially bust out like Parise did and score 80+ points? I mean, does he have a similar skillset to Parise? I know he "fell" and that anybody beyond the top ten considered to be an 80p forward seems like blasphemy now, but hey.. Getzlaf, Parise, and several other 20s have developed into 80-90p forwards. (Not comparing Schroeder to them, simply pointing out that 20s can become 90p forwards too).

    Thanks captain.

Really no need to point out that 20s can become 90p forwards. 90p forwards could come from any spot in the draft.

  8. The 2007 draft was terrible. I would say there is about a 50% chance of any of our draft picks playing more than a dozen games in the NHL. White has been terrible thus far, Kablukov probably won't leave russia especially since he wouldn't be anywhere near a lock to crack the NHL, Messier is a small, weak forward who has only scored 14 goals in the last 76 games in the QMJHL (scored 27 in 69 before being drafted), Matson has suffered injury problems (1 point in 13 games before injury) and Gendur scored 9 goals in the ECHL last season.

The only player that looks to have some promise is Ellington. I think he could make it as a bottom pairing dman similar to a Murray Baron or Vitali Vishnevski.

Let's compare this with Gillis 2008 picks

    1. Hodgson - Named OHL top player. He is a top 10 prospect league wide.

    2. Sauve - Big defenseman with great potential. Heard great news about his defensive play. His offensive improved from 21 points in 69 games to 30 points in 61 games. 2 less points in 5 less games than his team's highest scoring defenseman.

    3. Prabh Rai - Scored 5 more goals in 11 less games compared to his draft year

    4. Froshaug - Has struggled. Long-term project type pick but probably a bust.

    5. Morgan Clark - Bad pick

I have a feeling the 2009 picks will turn out a lot better than 2008, but we will have to wait and see.

Not only that but Gillis has picked up some decent prospects in Tochkin (expected to go 4th round), Walsky (probably would have been a 4th round pick but bloomed late) and Oberg (would have gone 2nd or 3rd round).

2007 was a terrible draft, but if Nonis BPA'd for the first two rounds, we'd be talking about one of the best offensive prospect pool that the Canucks had in years.

Moller, Perron, Hodgson, Schroeder, Rodin, Grabner etc.

Yet Nonis insisted on White and Ellington, but Perron was ranked higher than White, and Moller higher than Ellington.

  9. loving the pick of schroeder, why he was there at 22 i don't know. shocked the hell out of me that he was there. nice to have a gm who is smart enough to take the bpa. loved gillis interview "we had him as a top 10 player in the draft and when he was there it was a no brainer for us to take him"

anyone think he can play next year? i'm a bit unsure he may need 1 more year but he will play a lot sooner then most of the 1st rd

imo gillis is loving the drafting business, he look happier then last year when he stole hodgson

Well Hodgson was ranked around that 7-10th spot, but Schroeder was top 10-15 in most lists. Got him at 22. That's a 7-12 drop.

Nonis passed on BPA Perron and Moller. Look how they turned out, one of the top prospects in the game. (Perron being an impact player already)

In the 07 draft, if we BPA'd the top two rounds we'd have Perron AND Moller. Unfortunately Nonis did not know how to BPA and we ended up with White and Ellington.
