  1. Lecavelier bought out, gotta say I'm a little surprised. Heard rumblings but didn't think they'd actually do it.

A lot of teams need a big center and Lecavelier is still a top end player, wonder where he goes?

  2. Hey c2x. I notice that Justin Braun (D) and Martin Jones (G) are both still on the RFA list showing as unqualified. Braun is signed through next season and I just re-signed Jones a few weeks ago.

    Fixed, thanks :)

  3. Jacob De La Rose - I took him 25th, Bob has him ranked 29th.

Marc-Olivier Roy - Selected 47th, Bob has him listed 59th.

    Hudson Fasching - Took him 55th, Bob's ranking: 73rd

Eric Comrie - Selected with the 62nd pick, Bob has him ranked 37th! :towel:

  4. After 5:00pm, which means any players not signed cannot be signed until July 5th at the earliest.

You can still negotiate with players, but nothing can be signed until then. Beginning at 12:01am July 1st, teams can submit offers to unrestricted free agents. We will have a few days to go through them all, organize etc, and agents will begin responding to your offers at 10:00am on July 5th.

Today was also the cut off for pending RFA players to be qualified. So if you look at the RFA list of the free agent chart (link on page one post #6) and their name is not in italics, they were not qualified and will be unrestricted free agents.

  5. REPORT: KIPRUSOFF TELLS FINNISH TEAM HE'S RETIRING FROM NHL

Calgary Flames veteran goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff has reportedly decided to retire.

According a report from Finnish news agency STT-Lehtikuva tweeted Tuesday by Vancouver-based NHL hockey writer Juha Hiitela, the 36-year-old has told the Finnish national team he's done with his NHL playing career.

"Kiprusoff has told to Finnish national team that he is retiring," read the tweet. "If Calgary has not announced it, you guys can do that. #Flames #Kipper"

The Finnish national team also named its candidates for the 2014 men's hockey team for the Sochi Olympics on Tuesday and Kiprusoff is not on the list.

"As we indicated when we addressed the media on June 14, having just spoken with Miikka at that time, we realized that if pushed for an answer Miikka would have said that he was finished with his professional career," the Flames said in a statement on Tuesday.

"In light of our most recent meeting with him, the statement attributed to him by the Finnish National Team does not come as a surprise. However, as we have said consistently, we will continue our dialogue with Miikka."

Kiprusoff played in 623 career games with the San Jose Sharks and Flames, going 319-213-71 with a .912 save percentage and a 2.49 goals-against average.

He led the Flames out of the first round of the playoffs only once, backstopping the team all the way to the 2004 Stanley Cup Final.

This past season, he was limited to 24 games by injury and performance, and he finished 8-14-2 with a 3.44 goals-against average and .882 save percentage.

Kiprusoff was drafted by the Sharks in the fifth round (116th overall) of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
