  1. Over 25 cm of snow now in North Delta..it looks like the trees are made out of snow cause theres so much of it and you cant see any green..

I shoveled half of my monster driveway just after I worked 8 hours and im dead tired..I couldnt finish the other half, there was just too much snow, and it hadnt been shoveled beforehand the last couple days...

Its still coming down hard outside.

Apparently theres 10 more cm on the way overnight into tommorow, then Tuesday night into Wednesday another 10-15cm possible with the next storm off the ocean

    This...is frozen hell

  2. Wow, theyre calling for 20 + cm of snow in Metro Vancouver, and locally higher in some spots

The snowfall amount decreases once you head into the fraser valley, looks like us in Vancouver/suburban Vancouver are in for the brunt of it

    November 2006 anyone??

  3. this is what it says for me

    24 Hour Precipitation Outlook

    * We don't expect any precipitation from Tuesday Overnight to Wednesday Evening.

its wrong..go to any other weather website and theyll have snow as the forecast

  4. thats only the warning

but they changed the short term forecast to no snow until saturday

They always change it at this time of day, and its always wrong

Their computer screws it up and puts up the wrong forecast at night, for whatever reason

Trust me, its gonna snow tonight and all day tommorow, and they the Weather Network still has a snowfall warning up so right there you know that the new short term forecast is wrong

edit: a few snowflakes coming down here in North Delta now

  6. SNOWFALL WARNING: Greater Vancouver

Issued at 10:34 PM PST THURSDAY 11 DECEMBER 2008

5 TO 10 CM OF SNOW IS EXPECTED OVER THE FRASER VALLEY AND THE HIGHER TERRAIN AROUND METRO VANCOUVER FRIDAY THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT. 2 TO 4 CM OF SNOW IS FORECAST OVER GREATER VICTORIA AND EAST VANCOUVER ISLAND EXCEPT 10 CM OVER INLAND SECTIONS FRIDAY THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT. THIS IS A WARNING THAT SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS..LISTEN FOR UPDATED STATEMENTS.

An explosively deepening low pressure system will move inland near the US border on Friday. Precipitation will spread overnight from Vancouver Island eastwards to the lower mainland in time for the morning commute. With overnight temperatures hovering near zero, very wet snow is expected in most inland areas and over higher elevations with a rain-snow mix closer to the ocean. Fluctuating freezing levels and precipitation intensity add to the complexity of snow amount forecasts for this storm. However higher elevations of Metro Vancouver can expect 5 cm of wet sloppy snow with a mix of rain and snow likely near sea level, 5 to 10 cm are forecast over the Fraser Valley and 2 to 4 cm of snow are expected over Greater Victoria and east Vancouver Island except 10 cm over higher terrain and inland sections there. When winds shift to northwest directly off the relatively warm ocean near Vancouver later in the day the snow may change back to rain before the event ends in the evening. An Arctic front moves onto the coast from the interior for the weekend. Strong outflow winds may produce localized snow squalls along the east coast of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands through Sunday while the rest of the coast remains sunny very cold and locally windy.

  7. Metro Vancouver

    10:34 PM PST Thursday 11 December 2008

    Snowfall warning for

    Metro Vancouver issued

Persons in or near this area should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions. Watch for updated statements.

Please refer to the latest public forecasts for further details and continue to monitor the situation through your local radio and television stations or Weatheradio

  8. Here we go guys

Snowfall warnings will surely be posted up by tommorow night for the South Coast

The lady on the weather network said we could have snow OVERNIGHT into tommorow

Then she said, accumulating snows for the entire Lower Mainland throughout the entire day on Friday into Saturday morning, before the real artic air moves in and freezes it all up

We could have our first snow days of the season Friday and Saturday

  9. What you're forgetting is the fact that the Weather Network forecasted a cold spell for us a 3 weeks ago, but for Dec 9th and after.

Now theyre saying itll start on Dec 13th, maybe even Dec 12th that night with some snow, so they werent that far off their predicton.

Nonetheless, looks like we could be in for a white christmas

  10. taking a look at the long term forecast , we could be expecting some snow next week...

    http://www.theweathernetwork.com/fourteenday/cabc0308

Yup, this cold snap on the way looks legit

It'll be the same arctic air mass that'll hit Alberta and Saskatchewan

I checked some of their forecasts and they all seem to have temperatures dropping the same time we do

Looks like we could have a white Christmas if these forecast models are right

  11. Apparently on the weather network they were saying temperatures for the south coast of BC were gonna be below normal this winter with above average precipitation

    Yeah, you do the math...

Im expecting craploads of snow lik never before this winter

    Let it snow!!
