  1. Who's John Stevens and why does everybody want him?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Stevens_(ice_hockey)

He was head coach of the Flyers for two seasons. In 06/07 he led the team to a franchise worse record, but the year after, led them to an impressive run to the conference finals. He was fired with an above .500 winning percentage the year after.

He is currently an assistant with the Kings, and has been since 2010.

So he has won a Cup and he has been a head coach in the NHL.

It is also key to note that he coached the Philadelphia Phantoms to a Calder Cup and made the playoffs 4/6 times. So he has also won a championship as a head coach.

  2. I am interested to hear why a veteran coach would automatically be less of a fit with a veteran core group of players. I mean, a young coach with no NHL coaching experience (Eakins) and one that seemingly had difficulty controlling a veteran locker room previously (Stevens) could very well get pushed around by a core group that is used to running the show like the Canucks have.

Well clearly we are trading all of our veteran players this year.

  3. Try keeping it in a Canucks jersey. ;)

    Looks like... Lumme?

I figured another team's jersey could work as a hint, as everyone knows the player already played for the Canucks.

    Yes, it is Lumme.

  4. Kinda right kinda wrong IMO. While a cinematic would be that clear I certainly couldn't see the gameplay being the same. Lots of RPGs have shown this.

That's what I'm worried about too. I don't expect those graphics during gameplay, but I do still expect better graphics than the prior generation.

  5. And if anybody thought the leap in graphics would be as astounding as it was from Xbox/PS2 to 360/PS3 you're out to lunch. This generation imo, is more about a leap in what can be done, not what can be seen.

    .

It may not be a big leap, but this picture (PS4) looks better than the PS3's graphics.

  6. so with ea's exclusive partnership with the xbox, are they dropping sony support?

They are still producing games for the PS4, Fifa 14 will be available for the PS4 as well, but one part of HUT will only be available for the One. I could see it being like this (certain parts of modes, but not the whole game).

  7. We don't know anything about the new IPs, I'd rather have established ones rather than hope that M$ can deliver good ones.

The ones they already have are just getting worse. Halo is a joke now. It's gone way downhill since 3.

Plus, all of the TV stuff they showed off? Only in the US, we can't even use it.

It'll work for them and they'll sell tons of systems, but it's not for the hardcore gamer. It's all about the casuals now.

PS4 will be the better gaming system in my eyes. No contest

Halo was the reason I got a PS3 and not an Xbox 360. Most people I know that have a 360 got it just for Halo.

  8. A guilty pleasure of mine, that movie...Hot Fuzz is so goddamned funny....

And for the record...It has absolutely nothing to do with different tastes in movies...The Great Gatsby was a masterwork...a seminal novel by a great American author, F. Scott Fitzgerald. Luhrmann completely..COMPLETELY ruined this story. I was very generous even giving it a 4. You know what you get when you polish a turd? You get a polished turd. Jay-Z is NOT King Oliver, he's not Duke Ellington...he's not Kid Ory, he's not Louis Armstrong or Jelly Roll Morton...and his wife is not Billie Holiday or Ella Fitzgerald. Neither of them should have been involved with this film in any way shape or form. I'm not vocal about a lot of things when it comes to movies but I found very little to like about this one. And anyone who sees the film but hasn't read the book is missing the bloody point.

Well that makes it enough for me not to watch this.
