When we sell the hard copy tickets or before when we have the option to print out pdf tickets we still have the tickets in our ticketmaster acc so lets say if the buyer took your ticket and ran away without paying we could still say we lost our ticket or it was stolen to have the barcode change so we are protected that way (Never had any issue but I think that's how it works). But now lets say I exchange a game we don't get the option to print it out and we meet in person to transfer through ticketmaster, if they don't pay us after we transferred the tickets what can we do? Anything we could do to have ourselves protected?

I don't really know what you mean. I assume you are asking what if you transfer the tickets to someone in person, and then they run off laughing without paying you? Then you could contact the Canucks and they could reverse the decision possibly. But if you deal in person, why wouldn't you sell hard copy tickets? Then if they run off you can re-issue new tickets online (new barcodes). Best thing to do either way is to get the money first.

  2. This is the first year I don't think I will make any exchanges. Other than the Sedin game (which is sold out) everything is pretty even. I am cautious about trading Boston for the Leafs because last year the Boston Saturday game turned out to be the hottest ticket of the year even hotter than the leafs if I recall, which was weird. Big thing that Sours me is the leafs game is on a Tuesday.. not sure how that is going to play out

The only game I have my eye on is the last game of the year, Satuday April 4th against Vegas. Seems like this should be a Premium game not a Regular+ but even then finding something to switch for it is tough.

Canucks did a good job with the categories this year.

  3. I guess it gives you an idea of where you stand among season ticket holders based on your time. I imagine there's 4 time slots and they split the season ticket holders into 4 groups. If you are 10am Monday then you'd be among the 25% oldest members. If you are 2pm Tuesday then you would be bottom 25% (newest members).

I still see a bunch of mobile transfer listings after 3pm though (It's now 430pm).  I am guessing maybe those listings were made from before they implemented the 3pm cut off policy.

Also, do you guys remember if preseason ticket game exchanges count toward our regular season ticket game exchange quota?  I don't think it does, right?

It used to be 1 pre-season exchange allowed and 3 regular seasons. But last year I traded like 10 games and there didn't seem to be any limit. So I don't know.

I have also noticed the Stubhub listings ends at 3pm for the game day now? (I think it ended at 7pm before)

I just checked the listing that I have for tomorrows game, and it ends at 3pm...so they don't allow last minute sales anymore?

They only allow Mobile Ticket (Instant) for last minute sales. So if your ticket hasn't sold by 3pm, you need to go on and switch the ticket method and upload a photo of the mobile barcode. That should get you until puck drop.

Yeah I was wondering about that too with stubhub.  I am keeping all emails showing i sent the tickets just in case.

Nothing to stop people from buying tickets, not accept them while they shop for a better deal, then claim you never sent them to get out of the sale.

Forgot to mention, apparently the emails you get in your inbox are NOT enough proof because they don't include the email address (you could have typed the wrong address). The way they want you to prove the sale is to take a screenshot after you send the tickets before you click the "Done" button" which says: "Your offer has been sent to:". The other way to prove it is to go on and click "Reclaim tickets" and then take a screenshot of that, after you reclaim them, showing you sent them originally. But neither of these options, I would imagine, are available after the game has started. It seems kind of ridiculous to take a screenshot of every single transaction. Maybe do it for ones closer to the game or higher cost ones?

I just talked to a senior rep for a half hour on the phone at stubhub, basically asking him a bunch of hard questions about Mobile Transfer and the overall state of StubHub and I walked away from the conversation basically with several thoughts:

    1) Stubhub is going to lose the ticket wars against ticketmaster because they don't control the actual tickets from origin, where as ticketmaster does.

    2) Stubhub knows this, and that is why their parent company eBay has put the company up for sale for $10 billion? There is a really good article talking about this. Worth a read. Apparently vividseats might buy them.

    3) Ticketmaster is getting trixy. Apparently recently there was a major concert where 24 hours before hand stubhub changed all of the barcodes for mobile tickets and users had to go on and refresh. For people who did Mobile Ticket transfer this wasn't an issue, but for people who did Instant Mobile Ticket it was. Stubhub had to phone everyone and get them to reissue new tickets. What's funny is the way the rep told me this, he basically insinuated that Stubhub has "spies" working at ticketmaster who relay this info to them ahead of time, and Ticketmaster has "spies" at Stubhub doing the same thing. Someone should make a movie about this...........

    4) Stubhub spends massive amounts of money on customer service. If there is even the smallest problem, I find I have to phone them. Email and chat are useless. Same goes with buyers. Their budget for customer service is increasing every day with the new rules and changes.

    5) Probably the biggest issue of all: customer data. With every mobile ticket transfer, you get the full name and email address now of the customer. This leads to two potential HUGE problems which will be what eventually sink stubhub: #1) Nothing stopping the sellers/brokers from going directly to the customer...... #2) Fraud, fraud, fraud. What is to stop me from creating an official looking stubhub email and sending e-mails to those customers acting as stubhub, to try and defraud them? What if I type their name into google, find their phone # and call them pretending to be stubhub. "Yes this is stubhub. I just need to verify your credit card information". I can't think of any other business which gives out their customers data like this. And they aren't just giving it to random sellers, they are giving it to their rival - ticketmaster. You have to sign up for a ticketmaster account to collect the tickets and now ticketmaster can solicit directly to that customer. It's a total train wreck and the business model doesn't make sense anymore.

Anyways, I am just fascinated by these types of things because ultimately this ends up bad for everyone. Competition is a good thing and if Ticketmaster wipes everyone out and becomes the only place to buy and resell tickets then it will end up hurting everyone because fees will go way up. I am also not a big fan of such huge amounts of data being collected. I understand some data needs to be collected, but ticketmaster seems to be hell bent on knowing every single thing about its customers including how often they take a dump so they can calculate how many toilets will be used at an arena.

  8. So far I've decided to do a bit of a test run and sell a few tickets on Stubhub under the new "Mobile Transfer" option and I am definitely not impressed. So far I have already had one person report to stubhub they never got the tickets via email (even though I sent them) so I had to reclaim them, re-send them and send screenshots as proof to stubhub (that takes time). Compare that to last year without a single complaint or issue with digital downloads. Also, some people just don't claim their tickets at all, I assume they will do it at the very last minute at the gates... makes me nervous though. At least if things hit the fan there is guaranteed proof that you sent the tickets, but I wonder if that disappears after the event is over. I am going to sell a few more and see how it goes but yeah I think this is going to be a bit hit to stubhub's business and that's the only reason I sell with them is to get rid of tickets to a large customer base. If they lose that advantage then they are toast.

  9. Yeah we've been down this road before. The Canucks give out perks/gifts on a basis of 1 per account, not per ticket. I don't quite understand it but ces la vi. You and your friends should really consider sucking it up and buying full season tickets each. Yes it costs more but with the perks you almost can't lose on a single ticket. This year they gave $350 back on a gift card.

Yeah I tried 3 other pairs, that were gone before I got mine.  That sold out fast.

I imagine they are probably holding back tickets for the general sale, so it's not totally sold out. But it might as well be. Kind of smart for the Canucks to hold this on a Wednesday game against Chicago... turned a lemon of a game into a marquee game and will make tons of money.

Stupid system they are using.  But I got 326 row 1.  $462 for the pair.

Yeah the system is dumb but it makes it more fair to normal folks and less likely for robots to use it. I guess that is the point. I saw those 326's Row 1 but I passed. Oh well. I am glad they limited it to 2 tickets a person though, obviously huge demand...

Everyone see the new email....PDFs gone, print gone. Mobile phone of commemorative tickets only

I saw this coming per my previous post. Felt like something was up. I eventually expect them to restrict mobile tickets to only being viewed 2-3 hours before the event, which means no more instant sales on stubhub. The only way to sell will be mobile transfer. It's a way for them to kill off stubhub by forcing stubhub to reveal buyers/sellers info to each other. Pretty slick idea I guess.

Mobile - Your Phone is Your Ticket
In the 2019.20 season, mobile tickets will become the universal method of delivery through your Canucks account manager, replacing PDFs and the print at home option. You and your guests will no longer need to print tickets in order to access Rogers Arena for Vancouver Canucks Hockey Games. You can enter the building using the 50th season commemorative tickets or a mobile ticket accessed from your mobile device. For more information on mobile tickets, please review our Moblie App How-To guides.

It has always worked before.  I thought that was the whole point of the extra 150, to use there, not buy more food.

It has been their policy to not allow gift cards at the team store for a while now. Last time I went in and tried they were sort of rude to me. The card WILL still work if they scan it or if you get a nice person, but most of the employees have been educated now it seems and are told not to do it. I think the obvious reason is that food has a much higher markup. Some items like popcorn and sodas have a 90% or higher markup.

Season Ticket Holder Single Game Pre-Sale Dates Announced:

    Pre-sale begins: Tuesday, September 10 at 10:00AM
    Pre-sale ends: Monday, September 16 at 11:59PM

Definitely going to try and pick up some extra tickets for the Sedin Retirement night for my family.  I'm sure they will be tough to come by.

Looks like this year they aren't giving us STH prices, only regular prices. They are waiving ticketmaster fees but tickets will still be expensive.

  15. If you don't like the puck, then the solution is simple... sell it on ebay and use the money from it to buy a 50th anniversary jersey. Problem solved. But complaining about getting something free seems a little bit 1st world problem. For many seasons the Canucks gave nothing, so this is an improvement for sure. Can't please everyone. Frankly, I have enough jerseys and don't want another one, so to each their own.
