Let's make a deal for an old (not so old) buddy of Rathbone. Played together in Utica some.

Reilly Walsh / right shot defense / Cap hit $925,000. / New Jersey. What would it take?
That Harvard defence in Rathbone's first year consists (top 4 anyways) of Fox, Marino, Walsh and Rathbone. Not bad.
BTW, Walsh did not play together with him last year in Utica. (JR in Abby)

Both Gaudette & Highmore not qualified. Trade was warm body for warm body.
Highmore and Lammiko were decent 4th liners for a 17th-18th place team.

Mike Bossy was also drafted 15th in 1977. With his wrist shots, I'm getting major Bossy vibes. Although JL seems much faster. In fact, on some of the highlights, the camera couldn't catch up to him.

Don't know this Marchment.....but I sure remember his Dad. Also high risk / high reward.
The old man was a mean SOB.. Second only to Ulf Samuelsson for taking out knees. Mean and nasty but played 926 games. Over 2300 PIMs. If MM can play that many games, that's a win.

Shocking to see Jayson (effin) Megna holding up the Cup.

In the UK trial against the Sun, the judge was a family friend of Rupert Murdoch who basically owns the Sun. Also, the judge's son worked for a subsidiary of the Sun and was a friend of the writer of the defamatory wife beater article. So it wasn't a fair trial to begin with.

The problem any offense oriented LHD is going to have for the next decade in Vancouver is that their numbers won't be very high without PP points. There isn't much they can do with the tag end of the 2 minutes after Huggy Bear has absorbed 1:45 to 1:50 minutes each time. Just remember how good OEL looked in the couple of games QH missed.
Unless Bruce (or whoever) manages down Hughes' PP minutes, Bones would always have better numbers in a different sweater. Hard to do, though as pretty much anyone devalues the powerplay if they replace Hughes.
Eventually add Rathbone to PP1 - Rathbone with his shot replacing EP40, who will replace Miller, who'll be traded.

Last night Danila Klimovich was sat and Jet Woo played as a forward. Unless DK is injured, me thinks this coaching is suspect.
It's Playoff time - you need stout and robust players on your 3rd and 4th lines. Woo can rumble, Klim unproven at that.

How can the Condors be outshooting the Nucks? Aren't their best players the Black Aces on the Oilers?

I knew that he was playing good enough away from the puck to be called up. His overall skill and skating is just to high. He needed time to understand the timing of playing different angles to slowdown players on the attack. He is short, but not light at 190 pounds. There are many NHL defensemen whom are 6 feet and only 185 to 190.
I say if Torey Krug can make it, so can Rathbone. Krug was similar size at the start of his career, now he's 205 lbs and imo, Rathbone can be better than Krug.

Watching that clip, media is not doing their homework. They could have asked about Kuzmenko and what kind of player he is since they were teammates at SKA last year.

Canucks setting Woo up to be a Scotty Walker/Steve Staios type.

Does the AHL still have the veterans rule? If so, who are they?
With the additions from Vancouver for the playoffs, I'm assuming a few vets would need to sit out

Good game tonight but I think he needs to work on his puck retrievals on shoot ins.

Sid, you must have watched a fair bit of Reilly Walsh, as he was the RD player. He looks like
he's close to making the jump to the Devils; maybe next season. He is the same age as Jack
and believe there were top pairing in Uni. What did you think of Walsh's game?
Then that Harvard D had Fox, Rathbone, Marino and Walsh that year. (I just noticed that Marino never played in the AHL)

That Harvard defense during Rathbone's first year was quite decent - Fox, Marino, Rathbone.

How? It's 2023 and year one of his ELC.
Wouldn't he be in the same position next year as Lockwood was last year (signing after a 4 yr college career)?

Rathbone blasts one in unassisted - maybe we could use that shot on our pp - Hughes is as good as any forward as a playmaker - have a two D PP with Rathbone as the shooter, Hughes as the QB.
Didn't they do this last year for a bit?

darn. Canucks should be encouraging them to play him at center because the Canucks can always convert him to a winger if needed in the future. if those stats were acurate 53% faceoffs is not tooo bad but I know theres more to playing center than just faceoffs.
I believe someone was saying the 53% FO guy is another Linus Karlsson.

Exactly, good summary, Justin Schulz was another one
Vesey also.
Only one you could say that got away and turned out great was Fox.
All others were journeymen-types.

Decent face off man. PK'er.

thats him in beast mode which we will see more and more, he is still very very young and has done well this year. He will be a 20 goal guy with a selke type defence and great forecheck/physicality

Good win but I have to ask how many 22 year olds were dressed by the opposition?
