  1. NOt at 9 he wouldn't have. Everyone in the world, not named Gillis would have went with Nichuskin

sorry, but i think you're wrong there. more teams were in on him then we realize. his results at the combine, and his playoff performance helped him move up quite a bit. I was actually shocked Domi didn't fall to us where we got Shinkaruk

  2. I never said it did or didn't matter. I said the possibility exists that a new G.M. could move our prospects to get "his kind" of players because we don't have a lot of other trade-able assets. My pontificating could just as easily be supported by your argument too- how do you know Benning would have taken Bo Horvat at the 9th pick if he had the chance ?

he said benning probably would've taken him if he had the opportunity, not if he was at 9.
  3. Knights packed it in for the 3rd period. Usually doesn't work that way, but i guess in bizarro world..

It all comes down to one thing. Selfishness. The key players didn't show up, most notably Domi. When all the wheels don't work together, none of them will work at all. Anderson was pretty much the only one who was noticeable. Anytime they got something going, poor communication and selfish play just through it right off. Sad, and frustrating. I've enjoyed Bo in London, but i'm looking forward to seeing him in Vancouver next year. I'm confident of that.

  4. ready for tomorrow's game... this is off-topic, but i don't know where else to post it. talked to some nice fans from vancouver at the game tonight. always nice!

also, ran into this guy. he looked lonely, and nobody was with him or talking to him. felt bad!

  5. Meh. I watched the game last night and many others this year. Just my opinion. Watching the game you see flashes of what certain prospects bring to the table even when playing bad. Domi made some great offensive plays and created a goal. Zadorov had many great rushed. Anderson was invisible as was Horvat except one good play.

Just worry about Horvat being able to keep up in the bigs. If he looks slowish in juniors and floats a lot then I'm worried about how he can keep up in the NHL. Yes I know its blasphemy to express any doubt or concern about any Canuck prospect, especially one of our best and the blind homers will cry and scream but it's reality

He doesn't look slow and doesn't float around, so don't worry about that.

  6. The entire Knights team has been off. It's not just Bo. He's been playing his game very well still, but if you cut through two defenders and have nobody to pass to, how is it your fault?

  7. I don't want to draw the details out of you L.K., but can you at least reassure us that it's not Bo's dad ? The last thing we need is another Hodgson 2.0

    It's not Hodgson 2.0. I'll confirm that.

(message me and i'll tell you more)

  8. The whole team looked off, but you can't play dump and chase hockey with a team that just won a championship. I'm extremely disappointed, but i think they'll put it all on the line against Guelph and take a win. Just seemed like a lot of players were on a different page. Marner was trying to play tough, similar to Domi, and it just didn't work. McCarron was.. a short fuse. Zadorov was on another planet. The rest of the team seemed invisible. They seemed to grab momentum at the end, but it was way too late. They're capable of beating Guelph, so we'll see. They split the season series, and blew them out in one game in the playoffs.

I won't get into it, but there's a lot of behind the scenes issues in the locker room, relating to parents. Lets just say, certain hockey dads need to know their place.

  9. Actually, what i got from Bo, and actually Josh Anderson as well, in that game is that they are both read to move on. The way they play, is in my mind on a level above the rest of the team. I didn't like how he handled that penalty shot, but after the first, they all sat back waiting for chances. I wasn't impressed, but i did like that toe Bo-Drag that Bo almost turned into a goal in the first.

    The whole team looked deflated.

  10. There's nothing left for Bo in Junior. Everybody else will be gone probably, they're in a rebuild next year probably. 3 memorial cup appearances, 2 ohl championships and a world juniors appearance.. i think he'll be motivated to make the team. Knights are looking ready for the tournament. Dvorak, Bell, and Austin are all healthy now, and John Tavares has been practicing with them for the last week or two. pretty cool.

Ideally, Bo should be on a line with 2 veterans, so maybe try Higgins-Horvat-Burrows?

  11. You say that we out finessed teams with speed and talent 3 years ago but Virtanen and Ritchie aren't going to help with speed and talent. They are power forwards who don't play the puck possession game like how Kapanen, Nylander and Ehlers play puck possession.

If being a puck possession team made us successful then we should go back to it because we beat big, physical teams like that. We didn't have to be big and tough and have players like Lucic to make the 2011 Stanley Cup Final.

    what was the end result?

  12. Since his season isn't over, no. It's just the same as if he was still in the OHL playoffs. The CHL/NHL agreement states he can't be recalled apart from on an emergency basis after being sent back to his junior team by the NHL team until his season is completely over (including playoffs).

People are making this more complex than it needs to be. He can't be recalled to us or Utica until the Knights have no more games left to play this season.

BTW, I laughed at the sig.

And even if he could, he shouldn't. He's a London Knights, once he leaves, i doubt he'll be back. In other news, Stolarz will be back for game 1 of the memorial cup

  13. I have to respectfully disagree on both accounts. Patterson was probably the best player for the Knights this series and the team was just outplayed by a seemingly better club. Say what you want about coaching and tactics, the Storm just looked better out there.

The thing with Patterson is he makes big saves, and lets in bad goals at the worst possible times. Guelph was better, but the goaltending really didn't help.

  14. Well it is logical since Dale Hunter use's Horvat as a shutdown center to pair him with 2 two way forwards in the Ruperts. Tierney and Domi are the offensive players. Not saying Horvat isn't offensive, but it makes more since to play him with defensive minded players like the Ruperts if he is the shutdown center for the team. Thats a good thing actually cause Horvat plays better with solid players who can be defensively sound too, I think his game takes off much more than having the shoulder the whole line defensively.

Prime example was at the world Juniors. When paired with McDavid and Reinhart, he had to shoulder the line defensively because the other two weren't as astout in that area of the game. But when a more defensive minded player like Laughton was moved to his line, his game was a little more rounded, where he was willing to be more aggressive instead of being conservative the whole time.

Kinda like the same Situation with Kesler and the Sedins.

That's kinda why i've been talking him up to you guys all year. His stats are solid, but they don't do him justice. He's got a great forechecking game and most importantly, he finishes the play. There was a play in particular last night that stood out. He drove the puck behind the net with a defender on each side, and managed to maintain possession, and set up a blind back hand pass out front to Anderson who was robbed point blank. Perfect play. Anderson is ideal on a line with him

  15.

Bo getting buried on the Rupert line this year has always been a mystery to me. The deployment strategy for the Knights seems to be all about pumping Domi and Tierney's tires. Been waiting for exactly this to happen, when they don't show up and London gets hosed.

Also, Paterson is just....so bad. Stolarz was the biggest loss to this team by far.

it's unfortunate, but domi and tierney get top minutes cause they're pure offense first. Tierney can't take a hit or any physicality, and Domi is one of the most selfish players i've seen. That's why Horvat has been with the Rupert's. Speaking of the Rupert's, Ryan signed his ELC yesterday with TML
