Why he wasn't ejected from the game as per the rules was strange. Maybe the on ice officials weren't made aware?

If true, it seems about right. Maybe two games would be better but not far off.

From what I understand coaches meet with Campbell (hockey ops) not Shanny (player safety ) so it's unlikely that the process is the same.

I've said that before - the refs are trying to follow what they are being directed to do but it is so messed up, contradictory, and subjective that it doesn't work. Think Robocop 2.

Part of that is because over the last few years they have made the rules far too complex and subject to interpretation ( obstructing the goalie for example - why not simple stay out if the crease rule??).

Which is more fair comment than the conspiracy theory nonsense. The NHL is not competent enough to execute a secret conspiracy. Clearly the leagues management of officials is failing at a fairly high level and they need to fix it as it has already seriously eroded the reputation of the league as a legitimate professional sport.

It's hard not to feel that management has lost the inertia of the team and unlike other teams which have refreshed and improved their teams, the Canucks have just been recycled. Mr. Gillis needs a reminder of the Red Queen's Race principle.

If a mod is posting as a mod, it's one thing. If they are posting as a member, they are fair game. And yes, many here would prefer to include one Darth Kane over the majority of immature or ridiculous posters here.
