  1. Until Burrows and Kesler get their scoring touch back and Edler stops playing like a drunken beer-leaguer, it's going to be a long season...
  2. Not ready to give up on him, but he does seem to have set back games like against the NYR. As much as people say he is "still learning", some games it doesn't look like he has. If the rest of the team wasn't sucking so badly, Kassian's development likely wouldn't be under the same microscope but I think there is a desperation to see something from him.
  3. I think if I have to read one more post about the opposing goalie "outplaying" ours based entirely on shot totals or save percentages I might puke.
  4. Yeah, if they were truly only one small piece away, they would be doing better.
  5. Well, pretty much every thread these days seem to end up on: a ) 2011 (with our without a side of Luongo meltdown) b ) NHL/reffing conspiracy c ) Hodgson/Kassian
  6. Cancucks are now down to 2.55 goals per game which is third worse in the division (only Edmonton and Nashville are worse). Beating Florida who scores even less won't be saying anything new or different about this team: they need to make some changes to get some additional scoring from somewhere.
  7. Really can't give Dallas any points here - "must win".
  8. Well, he didn't actually call himself a sissy. But, even if he did, so what? Maybe he's simply not insecure and can make fun of himself?
  9. I think that pretty soon the thread will start creating it's own posts...
  10. Longest thread ever? I don't remember, but some of the Bertuzzi ones were pretty extensive, but there were so many, I don't think any single one was over 200 pages...
  11. Having a 4th line just made up of leftovers doesn't help either.
  12. As much as missing the start of a game irritates people, can you imagine the outrage if they cut off the end of a game? Split screen seems like a reasonable option (and CBC has done it at times). For playoff games in overtime that can go on forever, it gets harder (watching 5 or 10 minutes of split screen is fine, but after that...). Splitting the feed to another channel works if you are watching live - not so much if you are recording it (that has happended to me - watching a recording with a tag on it saying what channel to turn to to watch the game I wanted - not very helpful!).
  13. I don't buy into the CBC western bias conspiracy either. I do think they have some really terrible broadcasters and analysts though (yes, Healy is one of those - and not just because of the latest comments). Guys like Ron MacLean seem to think they are the ultimate experts and at times bigger than the game. They need a shake up - change the format a bit and get rid of dinosaurs like Cherry and MacLean and get rid of the bad play by play people and analysts. Easier said than done, though, I am sure.
  14. I was speaking more generally. Trevor seems like a pretty smart businessman too (real estate, gyms, etc.) so he may be able to do it.
  15. So much of being a GM is about negotiating legal contracts, trades, etc. etc. so hard for a player to just step into it.
