  1. If we take this seasons cap number as staying solid for 23/24 even though it should (hopefully) increase the Canucks are investing 9.69% of their cap space on JT. When the Canucks signed Louie Eriksson they committed 8.22% of the 2016/17 cap to him. 
     

    If JT gets thrown on Robias Island at the end of the contract this could become a home run. 

  2. My reaction is mixed. As someone who would have preferred that we trade JT I would have been the first in line shouting “that’s it?!” If the return was underwhelming.  Locking JT in at 8 is an awesome number even if the deal will suck for the last couple years. I’m just happy it’s over and done with now it’s up to the crew to figure out the holes on D.

    It doesn’t matter if he has control. It’s not actually offside unless he touches the puck in the offensive zone with another player still in the zone. It’s the same rules as dumping the puck in and happening to follow your own shootin while your teammate tagged up.
